Overview
The Lumitec Zambezi X2 is a surface-mount underwater light that puts 6,000 lumens on the waterline without needing a recessed can or a large hull cutout.
It runs on 10-30 VDC for 12V and 24V systems and draws 5A at 12V DC or 2.5A at 24V DC, so it fits typical dedicated lighting circuits when you size wiring and protection correctly. The light body measures 4 in (10.16 cm) in diameter and 1.6 in (4.06 cm) deep, which helps when you are working around brackets, strakes, trim tabs, or tight interior clearances.
The housing is bronze and IP68 rated for continuous submersion. Control can be as simple as on and off with Timed Toggled Protocol (TTP) for color selection from a standard switch, or it can be integrated into a Poco Digital Lighting Control setup when a Poco module is used.
Key features
- 6,000-lumen output with dimming support through compatible control
- 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V electrical systems
- Current draw: 5A at 12V DC, 2.5A at 24V DC (60W)
- Surface-mount form factor: 4 in (10.16 cm) diameter, 1.6 in (4.06 cm) depth
- IP68-rated housing for continuous submersion
- Naval bronze housing with a built-in isolating spacer to help reduce galvanic corrosion on aluminum installations
- TTP control for color selection from a standard on and off power switch
- Poco system compatible (PLI enabled) for advanced control through a compatible MFD or the Lumitec Poco app when paired with a Poco module
- Not compatible with third-party dimmers; CE certified; 3-year warranty
Variants
This product is offered in multiple light-color configurations.
The differences are in the output mode (dual-color versus full-color Spectrum). Power range, current draw, housing finish, size, and IP rating remain the same across the listed configurations.
- 101708: Light color White/Blue. Switch between crisp white for docking and deck-side work and blue for a lower-glare look on the water.
- 101700: Light color RGBW Spectrum. Provides full-color control plus a dedicated white channel for clean whites when you do not want a tinted output.
Installation and setup
As a surface-mount underwater light, the body mounts externally on the transom, hull side, or pontoon log where it can wash the water behind the boat. Plan for a solid, flat mounting area and keep the lens clear of trim-tab travel, steps, and trailer bunks. The 1.6 in depth is helpful when access behind the mounting surface is limited.
Wiring routing depends on the build. Some installations run the cable along the surface to existing chases, while others pass wiring through the structure to the inside of the boat. Any hull penetrations and fasteners should be sealed properly for below-waterline service.
Electrical and control
Use a dedicated circuit sized for up to 5A per light on 12V systems. Keep cable runs in mind when selecting wire gauge to avoid voltage drop, especially on longer runs to the transom. This light does not accept third-party dimmers, so dimming and advanced scene control should be handled through compatible digital control, while basic color selection can be done through TTP using a standard switch.
Compatibility and fit
The 10-30 VDC input range makes it suitable for most 12V and 24V boats. The built-in isolating spacer is particularly useful when mounting on aluminum pontoons or other aluminum structures where galvanic isolation matters.
On-board use
This light is a good match for pontoon boats, wake boats, and cruisers that want strong underwater illumination for dockside nights, swimming, and aft visibility. It also fits boats that prefer a surface-mount approach due to limited interior access or because they want to avoid large hull cutouts.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the light after saltwater use and avoid abrasive pads on the lens. Periodically inspect the mounting hardware and any sealing points, and clean marine growth as needed to keep output consistent.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
