Overview
The Garmin 010-11855-00 is a backpack tether that keeps a compatible handheld GPS where you can reach it fast when your hands are busy. The nylon harness wrap secures with hook-and-loop around straps up to 3.75 inches wide and it can also attach to MOLLE webbing.
A spine mount holds the device, and an adjustable lanyard cord (2 to 14 inches) keeps it with you when you pull the handheld off the strap to check position, drop a waypoint, or confirm your track.
On board, this is a practical way to carry a handheld as a backup navigator in the cockpit, on a PFD strap, or on a deck bag when you are moving around in spray and want the unit to stay attached.
Key features
- Nylon harness wrap with hook-and-loop closure fits straps up to 3.75 inches wide
- MOLLE compatible for packs and webbing systems
- Spine mount interface for Garmin handhelds that use the spine mounting system
- Adjustable lanyard cord from 2 to 14 inches for retention while the device is in hand
- Hook-and-loop stow position keeps the handheld parked on the strap for quick access
Compatibility and fit
Fit comes down to the strap you are mounting to and whether your handheld uses the Garmin spine mount system. The wrap closes around most shoulder straps and harness-style straps up to 3.75 inches wide.
It works with many Garmin handheld families, including Dakota 10 and 20, eTrex 10, 20, and 30, GPSMAP 64 Series, and Oregon Series. It is also used with other GPSMAP handheld lines and inReach handhelds that share the same spine mount system; inReach Mini 2 requires an additional spine mount adapter.
Installation and on-board use
Wrap the harness around your chosen strap, press the hook-and-loop closed, then attach your handheld to the spine mount and set the lanyard length so it reaches comfortably without dangling into winches, rod holders, or running rigging. Placing it high on a shoulder strap or PFD strap keeps it easy to read and helps reduce snagging.
This setup is a good match for coastal cruisers, anglers, paddlers, and race crews who carry a handheld as a backup and want it accessible without digging through pockets or a dry bag.
Maintenance and care
After salt spray, rinse the tether with fresh water and let it air dry before storage. Periodically clear lint from the hook-and-loop and inspect the lanyard and attachment points for wear, especially if it sees regular UV exposure.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
