Overview

The Garmin 010-13009-03 is a magnetic door and window security sensor that lets an OnDeck system detect when an entry point is opened.

It uses two pieces that sit on the fixed frame and the moving door or window. When the door or window is closed, the pieces stay close together; when it opens, they separate and the hub can trigger the security sensor state in the app.

For reliable detection, the two parts should be no more than 10 mm (0.4 in.) apart when closed. The sensor is rated to operate from -15 to 80 C (5 to 176 F) and withstands incidental exposure to water up to 1 m for up to 30 minutes.

Key features
  • Two-piece magnetic contact sensor for doors and windows on board
  • Compatible with OnDeck Hub, Cortex M1 Hub, and Cortex V1 Hub
  • Supports up to 30 security sensors installed and tested in series
  • Closed-position alignment target: 10 mm (0.4 in.) max gap between sensor halves
  • Hardwired connection to the hub wiring: one lead to the white/green wire and one lead to the black wire on the IN/OUT harness
  • Operating temperature range: -15 to 80 C (5 to 176 F)
  • Water exposure rating: incidental exposure up to 1 m for up to 30 minutes
Installation and setup

Mount the wired half on the door or window frame and the other half on the moving panel so the two pieces line up when closed. Keep the parts within the 10 mm (0.4 in.) gap target and use a position that will not shift with vibration or slamming hatches.

Route the sensor cable back to the hub and connect one wire to the white/green lead and the other to the black lead on the IN/OUT wiring harness. If you are adding multiple entry points, the system supports wiring up to 30 security sensors in series when installed and tested carefully.

After wiring, connect your phone to the OnDeck Wi-Fi network and set the security sensor connection state to Connected in the ActiveCaptain app so it appears in the sensor list and can generate alarm notifications.

Compatibility and fit

This sensor is meant for simple open and closed monitoring on doors, hatches, lockers, and sliding windows where you can keep the magnet side close to the wired side at the closed position. It is a good match for boats already running an OnDeck or Cortex hub and looking to add a straightforward entry alert without adding another powered device at the door.

Use cases on board

Common placements include cabin doors, companionways, cockpit lockers, lazarettes, and electronics enclosures. It is also useful for slip-kept boats where you want a quick alert if a hatch is opened while you are away, and for boats that see regular vibration where a screwed-down sensor is preferred over temporary mounting.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
