Overview
The Hella Marine 211738711 is a 12V miniature halogen replacement bulb in the H5W format.
It is used anywhere your boat light calls for an H5W miniature bulb and you want to keep the same halogen lamp type in the fixture. This is commonly seen in compact interior lights like map and reading positions, small courtesy lights, and instrument or switch lighting, but the final check is the marking on the old bulb and the socket it came out of.
Halogen bulbs run hot in operation. Let the fixture cool before swapping the lamp, avoid touching the glass with bare fingers, and make sure the lens and surrounding wiring are not pressed against the bulb.
Key features
- 12V miniature halogen replacement bulb (H5W format)
- Restores output and beam pattern for fixtures that specify an H5W lamp
- Simple swap when a bulb has darkened or failed, with no rewiring
- Useful spare to keep aboard for night runs and cabin lighting
Compatibility and fit
Match system voltage (12V) and the bulb type marking (H5W) to your existing lamp. If your fixture uses a different base style or a different wattage rating, stick with the bulb specified for that light to avoid heat issues and poor fit.
Installation and handling
Switch power off at the panel and let the fixture cool. Remove the lens or access cover, then remove the old bulb using the same motion required by the socket style. Install the new bulb fully seated, refit the lens, and test the light before closing everything up.
Use on board
This bulb is a good match for owners maintaining older halogen-based interior lighting, as well as charter and fishing boats that keep spare lamps on hand for quick fixes. It also makes sense for any cabin or helm light where you want a direct replacement without changing the fixture.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
