Overview
The Jabsco 38045-3092RSP is a 12 V electric marine toilet with a compact bowl for boats that use onboard fresh water for rinsing. It uses a solenoid valve, a touch control panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty cycles, and it runs on a 25 A protected circuit. Eco mode uses 1.0 liter per flush, which helps on boats where water use and holding tank capacity both need to be watched.
This model works on powerboats and sailboats and can be installed above or below the waterline as part of a properly planned sanitation system. Its compact size of about 14 x 13.9 x 16.3 inches helps in smaller head compartments where clearance, hose routing, and service access are tight. The bowl inlet uses a 19 mm (3/4 in) hose barb, and the discharge side uses a 25 mm (1 in) hose barb with straight or 90 degree routing options.
Key features
- 12 V DC operation with a recommended 25 A fuse and a working voltage range of 9.6 to 14.4 VDC.
- Fresh-water rinse setup with a solenoid valve for boats already using a pressurized potable water system.
- Touch sensor panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty modes; Eco uses 1.0 liter per flush and Normal uses 2.0 liters.
- Base rotates in 90 degree increments and the discharge pump rotates 180 degrees, which helps route plumbing to the left, right, or rear.
- Quick-release discharge pump and hose access with a C-clip layout, so service work is faster and does not call for tools at the toilet base.
- Compact glazed vitreous china bowl with an ABS base, plus an IP56-rated control panel and control box linked by a 3 m quick-connect cable.
Installation and setup
This is a freshwater model, so it connects to the boat’s onboard potable water supply rather than a raw-water intake. Before fitting it, check that the freshwater pump can supply at least 11 LPM (3 GPM) and that the mounting surface is flat and strong enough for the toilet and user load.
The rotating base and rotatable discharge pump are useful when lockers, bulkheads, or hull shape limit where the outlet hose can run. That flexibility matters on refits where the existing sanitation plumbing does not line up with the new bowl position.
Compatibility and fit
This toilet suits boats that need electric flush convenience without moving up to a larger household-style bowl. It makes sense in compact cruising boats, racer-cruisers, express boats, and charter refits where the head compartment is short on floor space but still needs straightforward daily use.
Check for a 12 V electrical system, a 19 mm fresh-water inlet connection, and a 25 mm discharge line before ordering. A system set up around 38 mm discharge will need an adaptor. The control panel and box are better suited to wet head compartments than an open switch arrangement, but they still need proper mounting and cable routing.
On-board use
The Empty cycle leaves the bowl dry, which is useful when the boat is underway or heeled and you do not want water sloshing in the bowl. This is a practical feature on sailboats, fast powerboats, and any boat that spends time in rougher conditions.
It is a good match for owners who want an electric toilet that stays easy to live with after installation, especially on boats where service space is limited and access to the discharge pump matters just as much as day-to-day comfort.
