Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VEU473S is an electronic chart for the northern Gulf of Bothnia, covering the stretch from Umea, Sweden to Vaasa, Finland.
It includes detailed areas around ports such as Pietarsaari, Oulu, Lulea, and Happaranda, plus islands like Vallgrund and Hailuoto. Coverage also extends to several inland lakes in Sweden, including Tjeggelvas, Hornavan, Uddjaur, Aisjaur, Fluka, and Storavan.
On compatible Garmin chartplotters, the Vision HD layers add 1-foot contours, depth range shading (up to 10 ranges), shallow water shading, and 3D perspectives. Satellite imagery and aerial photos are available where supported by your unit, which can help when you are lining up an entrance or getting oriented in an unfamiliar harbor.
Key features
- VEU473S coverage for the northern Gulf of Bothnia from Umea (Sweden) to Vaasa (Finland), with detailed port and harbor areas plus select inland lakes.
- 1-foot contour detail for reading bottom changes and structure in nearshore waters and tighter approaches.
- Depth range shading with up to 10 user-defined ranges and separate shallow water shading to highlight your draft-sensitive zones.
- Auto Guidance route planning support on compatible chartplotters, using charted depth and overhead clearance data to generate a suggested path.
- 3D MarinerEye and FishEye views and satellite and aerial imagery layers where supported by your Garmin unit.
- Cartography blends Garmin and Navionics content for consistent presentation of soundings, contours, and navigation aids.
Variants
This chart is offered in two delivery formats. Both provide the same VEU473S coverage area; the difference is how the chart data is supplied and loaded to your plotter.
The microSD/SD option is a physical card, while the download option is installed to your own blank microSD or SD card using Garmin Express on a computer. A single card is used for one chart installation.
- 010-C0817-00: Format microSD/SD. Insert the card into the chartplotter card slot to access the chart data from the unit.
- 010-D0415-00: Format Download. Install the chart to a blank microSD or SD card through Garmin Express, then move that card to the chartplotter for use on board.
Compatibility and fit
BlueChart g3 Vision HD charts require a Garmin chartplotter that supports BlueChart g3 Vision cartography. Check that your unit lists this chart type as compatible and that you have an open microSD or SD card slot before ordering.
Installation and setup
After the chart is loaded, select the BlueChart layer in your chart settings and set your shallow water limit and depth shading ranges to match your boat's draft and the way you navigate. Auto Guidance is a planning aid; use it alongside local knowledge, up-to-date notices, and a proper lookout.
Use cases on board
This coverage is a strong fit for skippers cruising the northern Gulf of Bothnia and nearby Swedish and Finnish coastlines, and for anglers who rely on fine contours to read bottom transitions when working structure.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
