Overview
The Hella Marine 958130701 is a 24V DC, 10W standard incandescent replacement bulb for navigation lights and interior lamps that use a BA15s base. It uses a single-contact bayonet fit, so it installs with a push and twist into the matching socket.
This bulb is meant for 24-volt DC onboard systems. It is a straightforward swap when your existing BA15s lamp has gone dim or failed, and it keeps your fixture working the way it was intended with a filament-style bulb.
Key features
- 24V DC, 10W standard incandescent bulb for navigation and interior lighting
- BA15s single-contact bayonet base (push-and-twist socket fit)
- Works in either polarity on DC circuits (non-polarized incandescent filament)
- Maintains the expected load for fixtures set up around a 10W lamp
- Suited to compact marine light fittings that specify a BA15s base bulb
Compatibility and fit
Confirm two things before ordering: your boat is running the circuit at 24V DC, and your light fitting takes a BA15s base. A BA15s socket has a single contact on the bottom of the bulb and two locking pins on the sides. If your fixture uses a different bayonet style such as BAY15d (dual contact) or a wedge base, this bulb will not seat correctly.
Installation and handling
Switch off power at the panel before changing the bulb, and let the fixture cool if it has been on recently. Push the bulb into the socket, twist to lock, and make sure it seats fully so the contact stays solid when the boat is pounding or vibrating. After replacement, check that the lens and gasket are seated properly to keep spray and washdowns out of the fitting.
Use cases on board
This is a common choice on vessels with 24V systems for navigation light housings and interior lamps that still use filament bulbs. It is a good match for crews who want to keep existing fixtures in service without changing the lamp holder or upgrading to a different lighting format.
Maintenance and spares
Incandescent bulbs can gradually lose brightness as they age, so it is worth keeping a spare onboard for running lights and frequently used cabin fixtures. If a new bulb fails quickly, inspect the socket for corrosion, heat damage, or a loose spring contact, and verify the circuit voltage is steady at 24V.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
