Overview
The TACO Marine Rub Rail Mounted LED Navigation Light Set 3-3/8’’ is a low-profile LED side light pair that mounts into compatible TACO rub rail instead of taking up space on the deck. The set uses one red port light and one green starboard light, with a 112.5 degree visible arc for navigation use and a layout that helps keep the bow area cleaner and less obstructed.
Each light measures 1-3/4" high x 3-3/8" wide x 5/8" deep and draws 0.6 amps at 12V. The lights run on a 12-14V DC system and are built with LED Cree chip technology, an anodized aluminum heat sink, and a polished stainless-steel joiner cover.
This set is a practical fit for bay boats, center consoles, and other 18' to 30' boats where rub rail mounting can reduce deck clutter and keep the navigation lights lower and tighter to the hull profile.
Key features
- Rub rail mounting helps free up deck space and keeps the bow sightline cleaner than many surface-mounted side lights.
- Sold as a port and starboard LED pair, with one 3-watt red port light and one 2-watt green starboard light.
- 112.5 degree unobstructed side-light visibility with reduced glare for navigation use.
- Runs on 12-14V DC systems and draws 0.6 amps at 12V.
- Water-resistant IP68 rating for exposed marine installations.
- Meets ABYC and USCG requirements for both sailboat and powerboat designation.
- LED brightness compares to a 10-watt incandescent light while keeping current draw low.
- Fits TACO Marine rub rail profiles V21-9659, V21-9904, and V21-9959.
- Uses an anodized aluminum heat sink and a heavy gauge polished stainless-steel joiner cover.
- Accepts a 1" #8 stainless steel fastener, which is not included.
Variants
This rub rail mounted navigation light set is offered in two plug configurations. Both variants share the same light size, 12-14V DC operation, 0.6 amp draw at 12V, port and starboard LED layout, and fitment for TACO Marine V21-9659, V21-9904, and V21-9959 rub rail profiles.
The difference is the wiring connection style. One version is supplied without the plug, while the other version is supplied with plug connectors for installations where that connection style matches the boat’s wiring plan.
- F38-6602-1: Plug option without plug. This version suits installations where the wiring connection will be handled separately or matched to an existing setup on board.
- F38-6602-2: Plug option with plug. This version includes the plug connection, which can simplify integration when the matching connector arrangement is part of the installation.
Installation and fit
This light set is made for rub rail installation, so confirming the rub rail profile is the most important fit check before ordering. It is listed for TACO Marine V21-9659, V21-9904, and V21-9959 profiles, and the compact 3-3/8" width helps it sit neatly within the rub rail area.
Because navigation lights are safety equipment, installation should place the red port and green starboard lights where they maintain the required viewing angles and are not blocked by hardware, hull shape, bow rails, trolling motors, or other equipment. The 12-14V DC supply and fastener requirements should also be checked against the boat’s existing wiring and mounting surface.
Electrical and marine use
The low 0.6 amp draw at 12V makes this set a sensible replacement or upgrade for boats that need visible side lights without the higher load of older incandescent fixtures. The IP68 water-resistant rating, stainless-steel cover, and heat sink construction help the lights handle normal exposure at the bow, including spray, washdowns, vibration, and sun.
Boaters replacing deck-mounted side lights, cleaning up a bow layout, or building around a compatible TACO rub rail profile get a navigation light setup that looks integrated rather than added on after the fact.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
