Overview

The Hella Marine 995002151 is a 2 NM all-round white anchor and navigation light with an 8 in. fold-down pole for 12V systems. It provides 360 degree visibility and uses a replaceable 12V/10W SV8.5 bulb, with an IPX6 rating for washdowns and heavy spray.

The fold-down bracket allows up to 180 degrees of vertical adjustment and locks in place, which helps when you need to clear a bimini, dodger, cover, or a low bridge. The base footprint is 2-3/16 in. x 2-1/32 in., and the light comes pre-wired with a short 100 mm lead for making a sealed splice inside a junction box or under the mounting surface.

Installation and setup

This style of all-round light mounts on a horizontal surface where it has a clear, unobstructed 360 degree view. Use the included wedge if the mounting area has noticeable camber so the pole sits straight when deployed, and bed the fasteners to keep water out of the core and wiring space.

The factory lead is 100 mm, so plan on making your connection inside a dry, protected area under the mount. Use tinned marine wire and sealed heat-shrink connectors, and route the cable so the hinge and fold-down action cannot pinch it.

Compatibility and compliance

The 2 NM rating and all-round white output make it a common fit for boats under 20 m (65 ft) that need an anchor light, or an all-round white navigation light where permitted by the vessel’s lighting plan. It is a practical match for center consoles, small cruisers, and sailboats that want a light that can be lowered for storage, trailering, or cover clearance.

Materials and exposure on board

The lens and housing are plastic that stands up to UV and impacts, and the pole is anodized aluminum. With an IPX6 rating, it is suited to open-deck mounting locations that see spray and routine rinsing after a saltwater run.

Maintenance and bulb replacement

Rinse salt off the lens and base after use, and keep the lens clean so the light stays visible at distance. Periodically check the mounting screws, the hinge action, and the wiring seal at the splice point. When the lamp needs replacement, use a 12V/10W bulb with an SV8.5 base.
