On some Volvo Penta installations the connection is made through a Y-loom or a multi-link hub, so the existing harness layout on the boat should be matched before replacement.

Route the cable away from exhaust heat, sharp edges, and moving components. Support the run so engine vibration is not carried by the connectors, and leave enough access to inspect or disconnect the link during service.
