Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VEU483S is an electronic chart for Southwestern Ireland, covering from Kilkieran to Cork, with additional detailed coverage for Galway Bay, Tarbert, and Tralee.
It adds chart layers that help with day-to-day navigation and fishing detail on a compatible Garmin display, including Depth Range Shading for up to 10 depth ranges, up to 1 ft contours, and user-set Shallow Water Shading. Features such as Auto Guidance, 3D views, satellite imagery, and aerial photography display when supported by the chartplotter and its software.
Key features
- Coverage for Southwestern Ireland from Kilkieran to Cork, plus Galway Bay, Tarbert, and Tralee (VEU483S).
- Integrated Garmin and Navionics chart content for coastal detail, harbor plans, and navigation data.
- Auto Guidance route suggestions that factor in the depth and overhead clearance you set on the plotter.
- Depth Range Shading for up to 10 depth ranges to make a chosen depth band easier to spot.
- Up to 1 ft contours for bottom definition that helps when reading structure and edge transitions.
- Shallow Water Shading with a user-defined depth threshold for quick visual awareness in skinny water.
- Premium layers such as MarinerEye and FishEye 3D views, satellite imagery, and aerial photography on compatible units.
Variants
This chart is offered in multiple configurations based on delivery format.
The coverage area and chart code stay the same (VEU483S); the difference is whether you load it from a physical card or install it via download.
- 010-C0827-00: Format microSD/SD. The chart is supplied on a microSD/SD card that you insert into the compatible card slot on your Garmin display.
- 010-D0418-00: Format Download. The chart is installed using Garmin Express, which is useful when you prefer not to manage a physical card.
Coverage area
This VEU483S region focuses on the west and southwest coast of Ireland, spanning from Kilkieran down to Cork and including detailed mapping for Galway Bay, Tarbert, and Tralee. It is a practical fit for coastal cruising legs, fishing runs, and repeated harbor approaches where local detail matters.
Compatibility and fit
This cartography is meant for compatible Garmin chartplotters and marine handhelds that support BlueChart g3 Vision. For the microSD/SD format, your device must have a matching card slot.
Premium layers and functions like Auto Guidance, 3D views, satellite imagery, and aerial photography depend on the specific chartplotter model and software level. If those features are important to your workflow, confirm they are supported on your display before purchase.
Installation and setup
For the microSD/SD card version, insert the card into the chartplotter, then select the chart source in the chart menu. Leaving the card installed is common if you want this region available every time you power up.
For the download version, use Garmin Express to install the chart to your device. Plan the install when you have a steady computer connection and enough time to complete the transfer without interruptions.
Use on board
Depth Range Shading and 1 ft contours help when you are scanning for structure changes, contour edges, and safer water bands during coastal transits or while setting up drifts. Auto Guidance can speed up route planning, but it is still worth reviewing the suggested path against real conditions, tides, and local restrictions before you run it.
Care and handling
If you use the microSD/SD format, keep the card dry, store it out of spray when it is not in the unit, and avoid removing it while the chartplotter is actively reading data. For either format, keep the chartplotter software current so the chart features display as intended.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
