Overview
The Simrad 000-15952-001 is a complete NAC-1 outboard hydraulic autopilot pack that pairs the NAC-1 autopilot computer with a 12V PUMP-1 MKII (0.8 L) and a Point-1 AP heading and GPS sensor for NMEA 2000 systems.
The NAC-1 is rated for boats up to 9 m (30 ft) and runs on 9 to 16 VDC. It drives a reversible pump output at 8A continuous with a 16A peak (1 second), and it connects to the network through a Micro-C port so a compatible Simrad multifunction display can handle setup and autopilot control.
This pack is meant for hydraulic-steered outboards where you want steady heading and route following without adding extra helm hardware. A dash-mount Auto/Standby button is included for quick on and off control at the helm.
Key features
- Complete hydraulic outboard pilot pack with NAC-1 autopilot computer, PUMP-1 MKII pump, and Point-1 AP heading and GPS sensor
- Recommended for boats up to 9 m (30 ft)
- NAC-1 supply voltage: 9 to 16 VDC, with 12V reversible motor control drive output rated 8A continuous and 16A peak (1 second)
- NMEA 2000 connectivity via Micro-C (CAN) port for integration with compatible Simrad displays and onboard sensors
- PUMP-1 MKII: 0.8 L geared reversible hydraulic pump, 12V DC, compatible with SeaStar manual helm pumps up to 14ci
- Point-1 AP provides GPS position and heading data on the NMEA 2000 network with 10 Hz updates
- Plug-and-socket style connectors to reduce wire stripping and terminal work during installation
- Metal dash-mount Auto/Standby button for simple engagement at the helm
Compatibility and fit
This is a hydraulic steering autopilot pack for outboard boats. The included hydraulic fitting kit is intended for ORB steering systems, and the pump is compatible with SeaStar manual helm pumps up to 14ci. If your steering system uses different hose ends or helm types, plan on confirming adapter needs before you start the install.
Autopilot control and commissioning are handled through the NMEA 2000 network, so your boat should already have an NMEA 2000 backbone or be set up using the included Micro-C network components.
Installation and setup
Mount the NAC-1 in a dry, protected spot inside the console where it can be bulkhead secured. The unit measures 204 x 190 x 57 mm and is rated IPx5, but it still belongs away from direct washdown spray and bilge moisture.
The PUMP-1 MKII is typically mounted close to the helm pump and steering lines to keep hydraulic runs clean and serviceable. The Point-1 AP should be mounted where it has a clear view of the sky for GPS and where it is away from magnets, speakers, and high-current wiring that can disturb heading performance.
Electrical and system integration
Power the NAC-1 from a 12V system within its 9 to 16 VDC operating range, using proper overcurrent protection. The recommended fuse rating for the NAC-1 is 20A. On the network side, the pack includes a Micro-C power cable, terminators, and a 4-way joiner so the pilot computer, heading sensor, and display can share data on the NMEA 2000 backbone.
A second helm station can be added using multifunction display power-steer commands, without adding extra hydraulics or a second steering wheel.
Use cases on board
This pack is a good fit for small to mid-size outboard boats with hydraulic steering that spend time trolling, running long channel stretches, or making offshore runs where holding a steady course matters. With heading and GPS on the NMEA 2000 network, the system can steer to a set heading or follow a route when paired with a compatible Simrad display.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
