Overview
The Vimar EIKON Series is an RJ45 Netsafe outlet module for finishing a structured data run on board with a clean, plate-mounted connection point. It is a bus (jack) style RJ45 8(8) outlet with T568A/B universal wiring, offered in Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A versions, with both unshielded (UTP) and shielded (FTP) options.
These outlets are commonly used at helm stations, nav tables, entertainment areas, and equipment lockers where you want a fixed, strain-managed RJ45 point instead of a loose coupler. Depending on the variant, termination is either a tool-free insulation-piercing style (no special tool) or a 110-type insulation-piercing terminal that uses a special tool. Cable support and conductor range vary by connector type, covering common network conductors in the AWG 22 to 26 range.
Key features
- Modular EIKON-format device for integrating into compatible Vimar EIKON plates and frames.
- RJ45 8(8) outlet with T568A/B universal wiring for structured cabling terminations.
- Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A variants to match the category of your installed cabling and patch leads.
- UTP (unshielded) and FTP (shielded) connector choices to suit unshielded runs or shielded installations where you want screen continuity.
- Two termination styles by variant: tool-free insulation-piercing (no special tool) or 110-type insulation-piercing terminals (special tool required).
- Suitable for round network cable; conductor support varies by version across the AWG 22 to 26 range.
Variants
This outlet is offered in multiple combinations of finish, connector style, and RJ45 category. Finishes include Grey, White, and Silver, and the connector can be UTP or FTP depending on whether the run is unshielded or uses a cable screen.
Variants also differ by termination type. Some use tool-free insulation-piercing terminals (listed as UTP or FTP), while others use 110-type insulation-piercing terminals (listed as UTP110 or FTP110) that require the appropriate termination tool. The RJ45 type indicates Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A to align with the category of the cabling system you are building or servicing.
Installation and setup
Terminate the cable using the T568A or T568B color code that matches the rest of your network and keep the conductor twists as close to the termination as possible. For shielded FTP versions, carry the cable screen through the termination as intended for the shielding to be meaningful across the run.
In a boat, plan for vibration and service access. Leave a sensible service loop behind the plate, avoid tight bends at the back of the module, and support the cable so the connector is not taking the load when the panel is opened or the boat is underway.
Compatibility and fit
This is a Vimar EIKON Netsafe structured cabling device and is meant to be installed as part of an EIKON modular plate assembly. Before ordering, confirm your existing series and plate layout so the module, support frame, and cover plate all match the same EIKON format and finish family.
Use cases on board
This type of outlet makes sense on boats that are building out an onboard IP network, adding fixed data points for electronics, or cleaning up a refit where patch leads and couplers have become hard to manage. It also fits well when you want consistent, labeled terminations at multiple stations for troubleshooting and future expansion.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
