Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a 3-module cover plate that finishes a Plana device position and hides the support frame for a clean look around the inserts. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and it carries an IP00 rating, so it belongs in dry, protected locations.
This cover plate range is offered in technopolymer, metal, and solid wood finishes, which makes it easy to match an interior panel scheme without changing the underlying devices. On board, it is typically used for cabins, nav stations, and protected switch panels where you want consistent trim around outlets, switches, and controls.
Key features
- 3-module cover plate format for Vimar Plana wiring devices and inserts
- Mounting direction supports horizontal and vertical installation
- IP00 rating, intended for dry interior locations rather than exposed washdown areas
- Classic Plana plate outer size: 120 x 80 mm, 9 mm depth
- Plana Up Design plate outer size: 122.8 x 86 mm, 9.75 mm depth
- Clips onto the support frame with a snap style fixing, depending on the version
- Wide finish selection across technopolymer, metal, and solid wood to match onboard interiors
Variants
This cover plate is available in a broad range of finishes and materials, including technopolymer colors, Reflex finishes, several metal looks, and a solid wood option.
Across the range, the main differences are appearance, material, and the outer dimensions between the classic Plana plate shape and the Plana Up Design shape. The module count remains 3, so fit is primarily about using the correct Plana support frame and matching the plate style to the footprint you need on the panel.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm your installation uses the Vimar Plana system with a 3-module support frame and compatible inserts, since cover plates from other families use different geometry. If you are replacing an existing plate, note that Plana Up Design versions have a larger outer footprint than the classic Plana plates, which can help cover old screw marks or paint lines but also needs a little more surrounding clearance.
Installation and setup
Install the support frame and the devices first, then clip the cover plate on as the final step once alignment is correct. On boats, it helps to fasten the frame to a solid backing so it stays tight over time in areas that see vibration. Because the plate is IP00, keep it off exposed bulkheads and away from direct spray; in damp zones, mount it inside a sheltered panel or enclosure.
Use on board
This plate suits refits that already use Plana devices and want the same trim on new switch or outlet locations, as well as new builds where interior panels need a consistent look across multiple circuits.
Maintenance and care
Wipe with a soft cloth; if salt residue builds up, use a lightly damp cloth with fresh water and dry afterward. Avoid abrasive pads, and skip strong acidic or chlorine cleaners on metal finishes. For wood finishes, keep standing water off the surface and clean with a dry cloth.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
