Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VUS004R is a coastal electronic chart for the New York area, covering Providence to New York, including Narragansett Bay, Long Island, the Hudson River, and New York Harbor through Perth Amboy and Brick Township.
It adds chart layers that help when you are working tight waterways and busy approaches, including up to 1 ft contours, Depth Range Shading with up to 10 depth ranges, and high-resolution relief shading that makes bottom structure easier to read. You also get 3D chart views, aerial reference photos in supported areas, and Auto Guidance route suggestions based on the draft and bridge clearance you enter on the plotter.
This is mapping only. It installs to a compatible Garmin chartplotter and displays on-screen with your boat position from GPS and onboard sensors.

Variants
This chart is offered in multiple configurations based on how the mapping is delivered to your system.
The regional coverage and feature set stay focused on the VUS004R New York area. What changes is whether you install from a pre-programmed card or transfer the chart as a download.
- 010-C0705-00 - Format microSD/SD. Pre-programmed chart media that loads by inserting it into a compatible chartplotter's chart card slot for on-unit viewing.
- 010-D0535-00 - Format Download. Digital chart delivery that transfers using Garmin Express and unlocks to a specific chartplotter for display and network sharing.
Compatibility and fit
BlueChart g3 Vision mapping requires a Garmin chartplotter that supports this cartography. If your plotter ships with built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping, support can be limited where coverage overlaps the built-in region, so the map source that takes priority may affect what you see on-screen.
On a multi-display helm, compatible Garmin units connected through the Garmin marine network can view the mapping from the chart source installed in the chartplotter that is sharing charts on the network.
Installation and setup
For the microSD/SD version, the chart becomes available after the card is seated in the chart slot and the plotter is powered up. Keeping the card installed is commonly required for the added chart layers to remain available.
For the download version, the chart is transferred with Garmin Express and is tied to the chartplotter it is unlocked to. Once installed to the correct unit, the mapping can be viewed on that display and shared to compatible networked displays.
Use on board
This region suits coastal cruising, day runs, and fishing around Long Island, the Hudson, and New York Harbor, where contour detail and depth shading help when you are lining up channels and working structure.
Electronic charts are a navigation aid. Maintaining a proper lookout and cross-checking with local conditions, aids to navigation, and depth sounder data matters in crowded waterways and shifting inlets.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
