Overview

The TACO Marine F16-0800C-1 is a stainless steel receiver with a backing plate for the TACO Come On Board Handle with a Fixed Base Mount. It gives the handle a solid socket point on the gunnel, making it useful for boats that need a safer handhold while boarding from the dock.

The receiver is cast from Type-304 stainless steel and has a 3" diameter mounting surface. It fits 1-1/2" diameter handles, is tapped for 1/4" hardware, and includes a bottom drain hole so water does not sit inside the socket after washdowns, rain, or spray.

Many boaters install one receiver on each side of the boat so the boarding handle can be moved between port and starboard when dock conditions change. The matching backing plate helps spread the load under the mounting surface, which is important on gunnels and other boarding points that see repeated pull and push forces.

  • Matching backing plate adds support behind the mounting surface.
  • 1.25 lb unit weight and sold individually.
  • Covered by a 1-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit

This receiver is meant for fixed-base Come On Board Handle installations where a permanent socket point is needed on the boat. The mounting area should be flat enough for the 3" receiver surface and strong enough to handle boarding loads, with access behind the surface for the backing plate and hardware.

Because the receiver is tapped for 1/4" hardware, the installer can match fastener length and backing requirements to the gunnel or deck structure. Hardware is not included, so selection should account for the vessel material, backing thickness, and exposure to saltwater.

Use on board

This receiver is a practical fit for boats that board from either side depending on the slip, fuel dock, rafting setup, or tide. Adding a second receiver lets the same handle serve both port and starboard boarding points without keeping a full second handle assembly on board.

It is especially useful for families, guests, and crew who want a steadier handhold when stepping between a dock and the cockpit or side deck. The stainless finish also suits visible gunnel locations where the hardware remains mounted between trips.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
