Overview
The Garmin 010-12445-00 is a 6 ft power/data cable with a threaded 4-pin connector for compatible echoMAP CHIRP combo units, combining DC power leads and NMEA 0183 input/output in one harness. It is commonly used for a clean helm or console install, or as a direct replacement when an existing cable has been cut, pinched, or corroded at a splice.
The threaded collar helps keep the plug seated when the boat is vibrating or taking spray, which matters on smaller fishing boats, offshore center consoles, and any setup where the display is mounted on a bracket and sees regular movement.
Key features
- 6 ft cable length for typical helm, console, and nav-station runs
- Threaded 4-pin connector for compatible Garmin echoMAP CHIRP chartplotter/sounder combos
- Single harness for power and NMEA 0183 input/output, reducing extra adapters and separate pigtails
- NMEA 0183 leads support basic data sharing with other NMEA 0183 electronics such as VHF radios, AIS, and autopilot interfaces when wired correctly
Compatibility and fit
This cable is intended for echoMAP CHIRP 7Xdv, 7Xsv, and 9Xsv models that use a threaded 4-pin power/data port. Confirm the connector style on the back of your unit before ordering, since Garmin units that use different pin counts or non-threaded plugs will not mate to this cable.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it will stay dry and protected, and secure it so it cannot chafe on sharp fiberglass edges or get pulled tight at the display bracket. Leave a small service loop near the unit, and use strain relief so the connector does not carry the weight of the wiring run.
Connect the power conductors to a properly fused DC supply sized for the chartplotter, and keep any splices or terminal blocks above bilge level. If you are not using NMEA 0183 connections, cap and secure the data leads so they cannot short against ground or each other.
NMEA 0183 integration
The NMEA 0183 input/output on this harness is intended for direct wiring between devices, not for NMEA 2000 backbones. Match the correct transmit and receive pairs, keep connections neat in a dry junction area, and follow the wiring colors and port settings used by the connected equipment so sentences and baud rates line up.
Who it suits
This is a practical match for boats running an echoMAP CHIRP at the helm where you want one clean cable for power plus a hard-wired NMEA 0183 link to a VHF or other legacy electronics. It also fits refits where the original cable is missing and you want to restore factory-style connections without improvising adapters.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
