Overview
The Raymarine T70407 is an EV-150 Power Pilot core pack for small to medium powerboats with hydraulic steering, supplied without a drive unit for installations that already have a compatible Type 1 12 V hydraulic drive or where the drive will be purchased separately. It is built around the ACU-150 actuator control unit, p70Rs control head, EV-1 sensor core, and Evolution cabling needed to create the main autopilot system.
This autopilot is intended for 12 V DC electrical systems only, with an operating voltage range of 10.8 V DC to 15.6 V DC. In a properly matched EV-150 hydraulic setup, it suits steering cylinder capacities from 4.9 cu. in. to 14.0 cu. in., or 80 cc to 230 cc, which covers many single outboard and single inboard hydraulic steering installations.
The EV-1 sensor core uses 9-axis sensing to track vessel motion, while Hydro-Balance technology helps compensate for hydraulic steering behavior such as elasticity and torque steer. For cruising, fishing, and route tracking, this gives the boat steadier course control without the long manual calibration process older autopilots often require.
Key features
- EV-150 core pack supplied without a hydraulic drive, suitable for repowers, upgrades, or installations where the drive unit is selected separately.
- Works with 12 V DC systems only, with a confirmed operating range of 10.8 V DC to 15.6 V DC.
- Supports hydraulic steering setups in the 80 cc to 230 cc cylinder capacity range when paired with the correct Type 1 12 V hydraulic drive.
- Includes the EV-1 sensor core with 9-axis vessel motion sensing for heading, pitch, roll, and yaw data.
- ACU-150 actuator control unit has a maximum continuous drive current output of 7 A at supply voltage.
- SeaTalkng connectivity lets the control head, sensor core, and ACU communicate as part of the Raymarine autopilot network.
- p70Rs control head gives helm control through a sunlight-viewable 3.5 in display, rotary knob, and dedicated autopilot buttons.
- Hydro-Balance steering control helps reduce drive hunting and course corrections on hydraulically steered boats.
Installation and setup
This is the no-drive version, so the hydraulic drive is not included. The steering system must be checked for the correct drive type and steering cylinder capacity before installation, especially on boats with outboard hydraulic steering or single inboard hydraulic steering.
The ACU-150 connects into the SeaTalkng network and handles steering commands to the hydraulic drive. Its housing measures 180 mm wide, 140 mm high, and 52 mm deep, so it should be mounted where it is protected, serviceable, and close enough for clean cable routing to the network and steering drive connections.
Compatibility and fit
This pack is a good match for owners upgrading an existing Raymarine autopilot installation or building an EV-150 system around a separately sourced Type 1 hydraulic drive. It is not a 24 V autopilot pack, and it should not be treated as a universal fit for all hydraulic steering systems without checking the steering cylinder volume and drive requirements.
On board, the system fits the needs of fishing boats, coastal cruisers, and small to medium powerboats where steady heading control, route tracking, and hands-off helm support are useful during longer runs or trolling work.
Environmental and electrical details
The ACU-150 is rated for operation from -20 degrees C to +55 degrees C and storage from -30 degrees C to +70 degrees C. The connector panel is rated IPx2, while the drive electronics are rated IPx6, so mounting location still matters even though the electronics are built for the marine environment.
Standby power consumption is 300 mA at 12 V, and the NMEA 2000 Load Equivalency Number is 1. These details help when planning the boat’s electronics load, network power, and breaker layout.
What’s included
- ACU-150 actuator control unit
- p70Rs autopilot control head
- EV-1 sensor core
- Evolution cabling kit
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
