Overview
The Garmin NMEA 2000 Field-installable connector is a field-attachable NMEA 2000 Micro connector for terminating NMEA 2000 cabling when you need a custom length on your boat. It can be used to build a custom-length backbone extension or drop cable, and it also works for shortening an existing Garmin NMEA 2000 backbone or drop cable to clean up extra slack.
These connectors are wired with five conductors (bare, red, black, white, and blue) and are commonly used during installs where you want to run the cable first, then fit the connector once it is through tight rigging tubes, conduit, or small pass-throughs. The network itself is powered from 12 Vdc (NMEA 2000 devices operate from 9 to 16 Vdc), so this connector is intended for standard NMEA 2000 power and cabling practices.
Key features
- NMEA 2000 Micro connector format used on Garmin NMEA 2000 cables and connectors
- Supports custom-length backbone extensions and drop cables without relying on a pre-made cable length
- Can be used to shorten Garmin NMEA 2000 backbone or drop cables for a cleaner harness run
- Five-conductor wiring set (bare, red, black, white, blue) for straightforward termination
- Black exterior to match common NMEA 2000 network hardware and keep runs looking consistent
Variants
This product is offered in two connector genders so you can terminate the correct end for your NMEA 2000 run.
The connector gender is what changes between configurations. Both are NMEA 2000 Micro style, and the right option depends on what you need the finished cable end to mate with on your backbone, T-connector, device drop, or extension.
- 010-11094-00: Connector Male. This creates a cable end with a male NMEA 2000 Micro plug to mate with a female connection point on the network.
- 010-11095-00: Connector Female. This creates a cable end with a female NMEA 2000 Micro socket to accept a male plug from the network.
Compatibility and fit
This connector is for NMEA 2000 Micro cabling and is compatible with other NMEA 2000 Micro connectors and cables used throughout Garmin-style networks. If a boat has an older or mixed backbone using NMEA 2000 Mini cabling, a converter or adapter is required at the transition point because Mini connectors are physically larger than Micro.
It is a good match for installers building a backbone with custom cable routing, and for owners doing refits where trimming and re-terminating a cable keeps the network tidy behind the helm, in the console, or at a mast base.
Installation and setup
Plan the connector gender at each end before pulling cable so the finished run mates cleanly to the existing backbone and drop points. Leave enough slack for service loops, keep connectors out of standing water where possible, and support the cable so vibration does not work the connector loose over time.
After termination, check that the network connections seat fully and lock as expected, then power up the NMEA 2000 backbone and confirm that connected devices are visible on the bus.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
