Overview
The Garmin 010-12224-01 is a replacement fairing block for Garmin GT21, GT23, GT41, GT50, and GT51 series of thru-hull scanning transducers. It sits between the transducer and the hull so the transducer face can be set parallel to the waterline, which helps scanning sonar read consistently while underway.
It is recommended when the deadrise angle at the mounting location exceeds 5 degrees. This part is commonly replaced during a haul-out if the original fairing block has been damaged, removed during a transducer swap, or needs to be re-fit after hull work.
Key features
- Compatible with Garmin GT21, GT23, GT41, GT50, and GT51 series thru-hull scanning transducers
- Helps set the transducer face parallel to the waterline for steadier scanning sonar returns
- Intended for mounting locations with more than 5 degrees of deadrise
- Replacement fairing block for maintaining an existing thru-hull installation
Compatibility and fit
This fairing block is for the GT-series scanning transducers listed above in their thru-hull configuration. It is used on hulls where the transducer mounting surface is not close to flat and the transducer needs to be leveled relative to the waterline.
Installation and setup
Plan to fit and install a fairing block during haul-out when you can access the outside of the hull. The fairing block is installed as part of the transducer's thru-hull stack-up; follow the transducer installation instructions for bedding, tightening, and final alignment.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for boats that run a deeper-V hull or have a mounting area where the deadrise exceeds 5 degrees, especially where clean scanning sonar matters for fishing, offshore runs, and higher-speed cruising.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
