Overview
The Garmin 010-02553-02 is a STRIKER Vivid 7sv 7-inch fishfinder with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, sold without a transducer. It runs a 7-inch WVGA color display at 800 x 480 resolution, and it gives you seven color palettes for tuning the view to your eyes and the conditions.
With the right transducer, it supports traditional CHIRP sonar (50/77/200 kHz) plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar (260/455/800 kHz), with 500 W RMS transmit power. Power input is 12 to 20 Vdc with a 3 A fast-acting fuse, and the unit carries an IPX7 water rating for incidental exposure.
For fit at the helm, the unit measures 9.3 x 5.5 x 2.3 inches and weighs 1.7 lb. The included tilt/swivel mount makes it easy to set the viewing angle on a console, dash, or electronics box.

Installation and setup
Mount the display where you can reach the keypad and see the screen while running in chop. The tilt/swivel bracket works well on a flat dash or on top of a console, and it is worth leaving enough cable slack so the unit can tilt without pulling on the connectors.
Electrical hookup is straightforward on a 12V boat system: supply 12 to 20 Vdc and keep the 3 A fast-acting fuse in place. For clean sonar performance, route power and transducer cabling away from high-current wiring, ignition components, and radio coax when possible.
Sonar and transducer compatibility
This package does not include a transducer, so the sonar results come down to the transducer you pair with it and how it is mounted. It supports traditional CHIRP plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning, and it can run 50/77/200 kHz and 260/455/800 kHz sonar modes with compatible hardware.
A 12-pin to dual 4-pin transducer adapter cable is included, which can be handy when working with transducers that use separate 4-pin connections. Water temperature data and alarms require a temperature-capable transducer.
GPS and mapping on the water
The built-in GPS is for marking spots, running back to them later, and tracking your route while you fish. Quickdraw Contours lets you record your own contour maps as you run, which is helpful in shallow bays, lakes, and nearshore areas where bottom changes matter.
Recording Quickdraw Contours requires a memory card with free space. This unit focuses on sonar, GPS position, routes, and the maps you create, rather than preloaded cartography.
Wireless and ActiveCaptain app connection
Wi-Fi lets you link the unit to the ActiveCaptain app for tasks like transferring waypoints and handling software updates when you have your phone on board. It also supports access to the Garmin Quickdraw Community through the app if you want to share or download Quickdraw data.

Use cases on board
This unit makes sense for boats that want a 7-inch screen with SideVü and ClearVü capability, plus simple GPS marking for fishing structure and repeatable drifts. It is a solid fit on skiffs, bay boats, center consoles, and small cabin boats where you want strong sonar views without stepping up to a full chartplotter system.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
