Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a 2-central-module cover plate that finishes a Plana wiring device with a tidy faceplate around the installed modules.
It measures 120 mm wide by 80 mm high with a 9 mm depth, and it can be installed either horizontally or vertically. The plate uses clamp mounting and includes a mounting grid as part of the fixing system.
This cover plate is rated IP00, so it belongs in protected, dry locations on board such as cabins, nav stations, or inside a helm console, not on open decks or anywhere that sees washdowns.
Key features
- 2-central-module cover plate for the Plana format; fits either horizontal or vertical layouts.
- Overall size: 120 mm (W) x 80 mm (H); depth: 9 mm.
- Clamp mounting with mounting grid.
- IP00 protection level for interior or otherwise sheltered installations.
- Suitable for built-in installation and also compatible with wall duct and floor box setups where those systems are used.
- Offered in technopolymer or metal, with a wide range of finishes including Plana Up options.
Variants
This cover plate is available in a broad finish range, with versions in technopolymer and in metal.
Finishes span standard Plana colors and effects (including matt, pearl, polished, iridescent, and Reflex styles) as well as Plana Up finishes. The main differences across the range are the finish appearance and the material choice.
Compatibility and fit
This plate is for the Plana 2-central-module layout. Before ordering, confirm your device support/frame is the 2-central-module type and that your cutout or mounting space matches the 120 mm x 80 mm footprint.
As a cover plate, it does not change any electrical ratings or wiring method. It is the finishing piece that sits over the support and modules once the device is installed.
Installation and setup
Install the support and modules first, then fit the plate using the mounting grid and clamp fixing. Because the same plate works in horizontal or vertical orientation, it is easier to keep a consistent look when space dictates a rotated installation.
For service access, remove the plate to reach the modules, then refit it once the device support is seated flat and the wiring is secured behind the panel.
Use on board
On boats this style of plate is commonly used for cabin lighting controls, galley or head switches, and accessory panels in protected interiors. It is a good match for refits where you want the switchgear finish to blend with the surrounding joinery and hardware.
If the location is exposed to spray, plan the installation so the modules sit inside an appropriate protected enclosure and keep the cover plate out of direct water contact.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
