Overview
The Attwood Marine Mercury/Mariner Twist-Lock is a fuel fitting range for matching Mercury and Mariner style portable fuel tank and hose connections. The range covers the tank-side female twist-lock fitting with a 1/4-inch NPT thread and the hose-side male twist-lock fitting with a 3/8-inch barb for 3/8-inch I.D. fuel hose.
These fittings are made for marine fuel line service where the connection needs to be easy to disconnect for tank removal, storage, or routine fuel system work. They are suitable for leaded, unleaded, ethanol-blended, and alcohol-blended fuels, which makes them practical for common outboard fuel setups on small boats, tenders, fishing boats, and portable tank installations.
Key features
- Mercury and Mariner twist-lock fitting style for compatible outboard portable fuel systems.
- Available as a tank-side 1/4-inch NPT female twist-lock fitting or a hose-side 3/8-inch barb male twist-lock fitting.
- 3/8-inch barb variant fits 3/8-inch I.D. fuel hose for common outboard fuel line assemblies.
- Die-cast zinc construction on these variants for a solid fuel fitting body in marine use.
- Suitable for leaded, unleaded, ethanol-blended, and alcohol-blended fuels.
- Tank fitting and hose fitting variants mate together within the Attwood Mercury/Mariner twist-lock system.
Variants
This product is offered in two configurations so the fitting can match the connection point on the fuel system.
The main difference is the connection style and fitting role: one variant fits the tank side with a 1/4-inch NPT thread, while the other fits the hose side with a 3/8-inch barb. Both variants belong to the Mercury/Mariner twist-lock fitting family.
- 14530-6: Connection 1/4-inch NPT thread, fitting role Twist-Lock Tank Female. This version is used at the tank connection point and mates with the corresponding male hose fitting in the twist-lock system.
- 14532-6: Connection 3/8-inch barb, fitting role Twist-Lock Hose Male. This version attaches to 3/8-inch I.D. fuel hose and connects to the matching female tank fitting.
Installation and fit
Check the existing fuel tank fitting, hose inside diameter, and engine brand style before installation. The 1/4-inch NPT version belongs on the tank side, while the 3/8-inch barb version belongs on the fuel hose side. Use thread sealant on threaded connections and use the proper fuel hose clamp where a barbed hose connection is installed.
Because fuel fittings are part of the boat’s fuel delivery system, the connection should be checked for correct seating, hose grip, and leaks before the engine is run. Replace worn fittings, loose hose ends, or mismatched connectors rather than forcing parts together.
Use on board
This Attwood Marine fitting range is a good match for boaters maintaining a Mercury or Mariner portable fuel tank setup, building a replacement fuel line assembly, or refreshing a fuel connection that is worn from regular tank removal. It is especially useful on boats where the portable tank is often disconnected for refueling, storage, or cleaning.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
