Overview
The i2Systems Apeiron A3100Z is a screw-mount LED downlight for overhead and courtesy lighting in places like a hardtop, arch, cockpit, or pilothouse.
It runs on 9 to 30 VDC and draws 1.5 W, which fits typical 12 V and 24 V DC systems without adding an external driver. The face is 3.50 in round and the mounting depth is about 1.34 in, which helps when you are working with limited space behind a headliner or panel.
The housing is sealed to an IP67 level for spray and washdowns. It is not meant for submersion or spots where water can sit against the fixture.
Key features
- Screw-mount installation with a removable bezel for front-side access during service or refits
- 3.50 in round face with about 1.34 in mounting depth for tight overhead spaces
- 9 to 30 VDC input for 12 V and 24 V DC boats
- Low 1.5 W draw for accent and courtesy circuits that may stay on for long periods
- IP67 sealed construction for wet areas and washdowns (not for submersion)
- Stainless steel construction with trim finishes that match common onboard hardware
- Two-wire hookup that works with standard on and off switching
Variants
This fixture family is offered with different bezel finishes and LED color options.
Across the range, the light color and finish are what change (blue or red output, with polished chrome, brushed nickel, or white trim). The form factor and electrical requirements stay the same, including the screw-mount installation, 3.50 in face, about 1.34 in depth, 9 to 30 VDC input, and 1.5 W draw.
Installation and setup
Plan the location so you have clearance for the fixture depth and for routing the supply leads. Leave room for a gentle wire bend and a protected connection point behind the liner or panel.
Connect it to a fused DC lighting circuit using marine-grade tinned conductors and sealed terminations. In damp or exposed areas, sealing the cutout and fastener penetrations helps keep moisture out of the panel core.
Use on board
Common mounting spots include hardtops, arches, cockpit overhangs, companionways, and pilothouse ceilings. Red lighting helps preserve night vision at the helm, while blue lighting is often used for low-glare accent and courtesy lighting in seating areas and walkways.
This light is a good match for boats that see regular washdowns and salt air, where an IP67 sealed fixture helps reduce water intrusion through overhead panels.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue with fresh water and wipe the bezel with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can dull polished finishes or scratch coated trim.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
