Overview
The Jabsco 18670-0123 is a 12V commercial-duty flexible impeller water pump with a bronze body, a nitrile impeller, 1/2 inch internal pipe threads, and a 1 inch external hose barb. It is rated at 34 L/min or 9 US GPM, with normal operation up to 20 ft of head or 8.7 psi.
The fully enclosed permanent magnet motor uses a stainless steel shaft and ball type shaft bearing, and the electrical load is 11.5 amps with a 20 amp fuse. At 3 inches high, 6-7/8 inches long, and 4-3/4 inches wide, it fits into tighter spaces on board, but the motor is not waterproof, so it needs a dry mounting position and must not be submerged.
This pump is a practical match for bilge pumping, bait tank emptying with reverse rotation, and general water transfer jobs on boats that need a reversible pump with threaded or hose-barb plumbing options. The motor also meets USCG 183.410 and ISO 8846 ignition protection requirements for gasoline-powered vessels.

Installation and setup
The pump can be mounted in any position, but it should go in a dry and ventilated location where water from a loose connection cannot drip onto the motor. On the suction side, use hose with enough wall thickness to resist collapse and keep all connections airtight so the pump primes properly.
This model uses external 1 inch hose barb connections with internal 1/2 inch pipe threads, which helps when matching existing marine hose and threaded fittings. Keeping a little water in the pump body helps wet the impeller, which improves priming and reduces wear at startup.
Electrical and system integration
On a 12V boat, this model draws 11.5 amps and calls for a 20 amp fuse. Minimum wire size is 14 AWG for a total circuit run up to 10 feet, 12 AWG for 10 to 20 feet, and 10 AWG for 20 to 40 feet. The pump should be on its own protected circuit rather than tied into other accessories.
Because this is a flexible impeller pump, it should not be run dry beyond the short time needed to prime. It also should not run against a closed outlet such as a shut-off nozzle. Pumped liquid temperature can range from 45 to 180 degrees F, or 7 to 82 degrees C.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
