Overview
The i2Systems Apeiron PRO A506 is a 6W spring-mount LED downlight for boats where you want general lighting that spreads evenly without a bulky fixture.
It throws a wide 120° beam and supports dimming down to 1% for low-glare evenings. Depending on the configuration, the light is offered as single-white (cool, neutral, or warm) or as a white mode paired with a secondary color like blue or red for nighttime use and accent lighting.
The fixture is IP67-rated against washdowns (not for submersion), making it a practical choice for cabins and covered exterior areas that see spray, humidity, and routine cleaning.
Key features
- 6W LED downlight with a wide 120° beam for even area lighting
- Spring-mount retention for quick installs into a panel or headliner cutout
- Dimming capability down to 1% for night operation and reduced glare
- IP67-rated sealing for wet environments and washdowns (not for submersion)
- Simple 2-wire hookup and refit-friendly approach for replacing older downlights
- Multiple trim face shapes to match the look of surrounding hardware and joinery
- Finish choices including white, brushed nickel, and polished chrome
- Light output options including single-white and white plus blue or red combinations
Variants
This A506 range is offered in multiple configurations. The differences are the trim face shape, the trim finish, and the light output option (single-white or white plus a secondary color such as blue or red).
Shape options include round faces as well as square and mixed square-round looks for different interior styles. Finish options help match nearby hardware, while warm, neutral, and cool white choices help you keep color consistency across cabins and seating areas.
Installation and setup
Spring mounts are meant for a clean cutout installation. Before cutting, confirm you have enough clearance behind the panel for the body of the light and the spring arms, and make sure the mounting surface is flat so the trim sits tight.
On boats that see vibration, support the wiring close to the fixture and use marine connectors and heat-shrink terminations, especially in cockpits, hardtops, and other damp locations.
Electrical and control notes
These downlights are commonly run from standard onboard switching, and dimming performance depends on using a compatible dimmer for your lighting circuit. For configurations that include a secondary color, plan your control method ahead of time so you can access both modes in a way that fits your helm or cabin switch layout.
Use on board
This style of downlight is a good match for cruisers updating cabin lighting, as well as fishing and night-running boats that want a white mode for general tasks with an alternate color option in select areas. Typical mounting spots include salon headliners, staterooms, galleys, cockpits, hardtops, arches, courtesy zones, and pilot houses.
Maintenance and care
Rinse off salt residue when used in exposed areas and wipe the trim with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the finished bezel, and periodically check that the trim is seated evenly after heavy pounding or seasonal panel work.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
