Overview

The TACO Marine OT-0318HD is a pair of 18' deluxe aluminum telescoping outrigger poles with roller bearing halyard pulleys for offshore trolling. These poles extend to 18' to widen the trolling spread and collapse to 7' 11" for trailering, storage, and bridge clearance.

Each 3-piece pole fits a standard 1-1/2" outrigger base and uses patented 360º swivel collars to help natural baits track cleanly while reducing halyard friction. Solid Delrin support bearings, linear lock pins, and increased aluminum wall thickness make the set a practical fit for center consoles and sport-fishing boats that see regular offshore use.

The poles pair with TACO Grand Slam 280, 2801, 380, 390, and 400 series outrigger bases. They are sold as a pair and are available in two finish combinations to match common hardtop, tower, and outrigger mount setups.

Variants

This outrigger pole set is offered in two finish configurations. Both variants share the same 18' extended length, 7' 11" collapsed length, 1-1/2" butt diameter, telescoping design, and roller-equipped halyard layout.

The finish is the main difference between the configurations, so selection comes down to how the poles should look with the boat's mounts, hardtop, tower, and existing hardware.

• OT-0318HD-VEL: Color Silver/Silver. This version keeps a silver finish across the pole and visible trim, giving the setup a clean match with many polished or light aluminum outrigger installations.
• OT-0318HD-BKA: Color Silver/Black. This version combines silver and black for boats with black accents, powder-coated hardware, or darker tower and top details.

Installation and fit

These poles are intended for boats already set up, or being set up, with compatible 1-1/2" outrigger bases. Confirm the mount series, base size, roof or gunwale clearance, and storage path before ordering, especially on trailerable boats or vessels that regularly pass under fixed bridges.

Because the poles collapse below 8', they are easier to handle when the boat is being stored, moved on a trailer, or prepared at the dock. The telescoping layout also helps reduce the amount of long gear that has to remain exposed when the boat is not actively fishing.

Use on board

This set is a good match for offshore trolling where wider bait spacing, cleaner halyard movement, and a pair of longer poles matter more than a compact inshore setup. The roller and swivel collar arrangement is useful when running natural baits and when the crew needs smoother halyard operation during repeated adjustments.
