Overview

The Simrad 000-16143-001 is a multi-GNSS compass sensor that feeds stable heading and position data to your NMEA 2000 network for systems that need a clean heading source.

It tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS and reports heading at 0.75 degrees RMS, including when the boat is sitting still. Heading and position updates are available up to 10 Hz, and with SBAS corrections available it is specified at 0.6 m positioning accuracy (95%).

Power and data run through a single NMEA 2000 Micro-C connection. The unit is rated IPX7, runs on 6 to 36 VDC for 12 V or 24 V systems, and measures 158 x 74 x 348 mm.

Key features
  • 0.75 degrees RMS heading performance with GNSS-based heading that does not depend on boat movement
  • Multi-constellation reception: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS
  • Integrated gyro aiding to help smooth heading output and bridge brief satellite dropouts
  • Up to 10 Hz updates for heading and position for responsive steering on compatible equipment
  • NMEA 2000 (Micro-C) interface for power and data on a standard backbone
  • Outputs heading and rate of turn, plus motion data such as heave, pitch, and roll for compatible systems
  • 6 to 36 VDC input with typical 3.2 W consumption
  • IPX7 water resistance, 95% non-condensing humidity rating, and -40 C to +70 C operating range
  • Surface or pole mounting options; about 0.75 kg weight
Installation and setup

Mount the HS75 where it has a clear view of the sky and a stable base, using either a flat surface or a pole mount. Keep it away from structures and onboard gear that can block satellites, and route network cabling away from high-current runs where practical.

The specified compass-safe distance is 50 cm (19.7 in), so plan placement accordingly if you have a magnetic compass or other sensitive instruments nearby.

Network and system integration

On a NMEA 2000 backbone, the sensor shares heading, GNSS position, COG and SOG, and rate-of-turn information with connected displays, autopilots, and radar systems that rely on heading data. Because it draws power from the network and accepts 6 to 36 VDC, it fits both 12 V and 24 V installations as long as the backbone is powered and properly terminated.

Use on board

This sensor is a good fit when an autopilot needs a steady heading and rate-of-turn feed, or when a radar and chart system needs heading data that stays accurate at low speed and while stationary. It also suits boats where you want a single NMEA 2000 source for both heading and GNSS position without adding separate sensors.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
