Overview
The Attwood Marine Lock'N-Pin 3/4-inch Pin Seat Mount is a seat-to-pedestal mount for Attwood 3/4-inch pin seating systems, with Lock'N-Pin retention that helps keep the seat mount, post, and base from separating unintentionally. The mount uses a 2-3/4-inch pin and a 3-degree tilt, and the range includes 1-inch and 2-inch installed height options depending on the finish and spring configuration.
These mounts are made for matching Attwood Lock'N-Pin components on fishing seats, passenger seats, and general cockpit or deck seating positions. They are ABYC Code B seating hardware, so they should not be used for a helm or driver seat.
Key features
- 3/4-inch Lock'N-Pin seating interface for compatible Attwood posts and bases.
- Locking pin system helps prevent unintended separation of the seat mount, post, and base.
- 2-3/4-inch pin length with a 3-degree tilt for the seat angle built into the mount.
- ABYC Code B seating hardware for non-helm seating positions.
- Finish and material options include zinc-plated steel, black E-coated steel, and all stainless steel.
- 1-inch and 2-inch installed height options help match the replacement mount to the existing seat setup.
- Spring and non-spring configurations are available, so the mount can match the feel and height of the original installation.
- Intended for use within the Attwood Lock'N-Pin system rather than mixed with other manufacturers' pedestal hardware.
Variants
This Lock'N-Pin seat mount is offered in four configurations, with the main differences being finish, pin material, spring style, and installed height.
The 3/4-inch seating interface, 2-3/4-inch pin format, and 3-degree tilt stay consistent across these configurations. The 2-inch versions include a spring, while the 1-inch versions keep the seat lower and omit the spring.
- SP-1002: Zinc-plated finish, 2-3/4-inch steel pin with spring, 2-inch installed height. The spring adds a little give under the seat, and the zinc-plated finish matches a common silver-toned replacement setup.
- 1002: Black E-coated finish, 2-3/4-inch steel pin with spring, 2-inch installed height. This version keeps the spring and uses a black finish that blends under many boat seats and pedestal arrangements.
- 1002-S: Black E-coated finish, 2-3/4-inch steel pin, 1-inch installed height. This non-spring configuration keeps the seat lower than the spring versions where extra cushion travel is not wanted.
- 1002-SS: All stainless steel finish, 2-3/4-inch stainless steel pin, 1-inch installed height. The all-stainless build is a strong match for seating locations that see more moisture, spray, or washdowns.
Compatibility and fit
Use this mount with Attwood 3/4-inch Lock'N-Pin posts and bases from the same system. Before replacing an existing mount, compare the installed height, spring style, finish, pin material, and whether the seating position is a non-helm location.
For a helm chair or driver position, use seating hardware rated for that position by the boat builder or pedestal system requirements. This series is a good match for anglers and recreational boaters replacing a worn Lock'N-Pin seat mount in a fishing, passenger, or general utility seating location.
Installation notes
This mount is part of a drop-in pedestal seating system, so fit depends on the matching post and base as much as the seat mount itself. Keep the seating hardware within the same Lock'N-Pin family, check that the pin locks cleanly into the mating component, and confirm that the finished seat height feels right before regular use on the water.
Materials and finish
The zinc-plated and black E-coated steel versions make sense when replacing similar steel hardware and keeping the finish close to the original look under the seat. The all stainless steel version keeps the same basic seating geometry but uses stainless steel throughout, including the pin, for added corrosion resistance in wet marine areas.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
