Overview
The Hella Marine Module 70 is a compact LED worklight for deck and task lighting, with a round footprint around 83 mm (3.27 in) across and an overall height around 110 mm (4.33 in) when mounted.
It is used on hardtops, radar arches, masts, transoms, and other exposed mounting points where you want clear illumination without giving up much space. This range is offered with different beam patterns and housing colors, so you can match the light spread to your mounting distance and the look of your boat.
Key features
- Close range and long range beam pattern options to suit short working distances or reaching farther ahead
- Housing color options in black or white for a cleaner match to arches, topsides, and superstructure
- Compact round light head, about 83 mm (3.27 in) diameter, for tight mounting locations
- Multi-voltage DC input suitable for 12V and 24V onboard systems
- Bracket-style mount that allows aiming the light after installation
- Sealed light assembly intended for exposed mounting locations and regular washdowns
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations.
What changes between versions is the housing color (black or white) and the beam pattern (long range or close range).
- 996476221: Black housing with long range beam pattern. This version concentrates light farther out, which is useful when the fixture is mounted higher and you want more reach ahead of the boat.
- 996476211: Black housing with close range beam pattern. This version spreads light across a wider area at shorter distances, which suits cockpit and deck work zones.
- 996476201: White housing with long range beam pattern. A long range optic helps push light down a dock or toward the bow while keeping the fixture footprint small.
- 996476191: White housing with close range beam pattern. A close range beam helps light up the immediate working area with less hotspotting when mounted near the task area.
Compatibility and fit
Plan the mounting position based on what you are trying to light and how far the target area sits from the fixture. Long range versions make more sense when the lamp is mounted higher or farther back and you need throw, while close range versions work well when the lamp is closer to the area being worked.
The compact diameter helps when you are fitting multiple accessories on an arch or hardtop, or when you want a cleaner installation on a mast, spreader bar, or transom structure.
Installation and setup
Mount the light on a solid, flat surface and use proper backing if the panel is thin or subject to vibration. Aim it on the dock before final tightening so you avoid glare into the cockpit and keep the beam where you actually need it.
For wiring, route the cable with a drip loop, keep connections above standing water where possible, and use marine-grade connectors and heat-shrink sealing so the installation stays trouble-free in salt spray.
Use cases on board
Close range beam patterns fit cockpit work, foredeck handling, engine room access, and general deck tasks. Long range beam patterns fit dock approaches, picking up moorings, and lighting farther down the side deck from a higher mounting point.
This range is a good match for boats that want a small, purpose-built task light on an arch, hardtop, mast, or transom without stepping up to a much larger floodlight.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the housing after saltwater use, especially around the bracket hardware, and check the mounting fastener periodically. Keep the lens clean so you get the intended beam pattern and avoid light scatter.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
