Overview
This JL Audio amplifier power connection kit is offered in multiple configurations to match common one or two amplifier installs on board, with wire gauge options in 1/0, 2, 4, and 8 AWG. It is meant for the DC power and ground side of an audio amplifier installation, where clean routing, solid terminations, and correct wire sizing make the difference between a system that plays reliably and one that trips, cuts out, or picks up noise.
Before ordering, confirm the combined amplifier current draw, your planned cable run length, and the size your amplifier power terminals will accept. Plan for overcurrent protection close to the battery, keep grounds short to a known-good bonding/ground point, and route cables where they will not chafe in vibration or sit in bilge water.
Key features
- Configurations sized for single-amplifier and two-amplifier power wiring layouts.
- Multiple cable gauge options (1/0, 2, 4, 8 AWG) to help manage voltage drop on longer runs and higher current systems.
- Helps standardize your install so the power feed, grounds, and branch runs are sized consistently instead of mixing mismatched wire.
- Useful for new amplifier additions in consoles, under seats, inside lockers, or in equipment bays where routing space and service access matter.
Variants
This product is available in multiple configurations.
The main differences across the range are the power-cable gauge (AWG) and whether the configuration is intended for one amplifier or two amplifiers. Verify that your planned route has enough space for the selected gauge and that your amplifier terminals and lugs match the cable size.
- 010-13640-00: AWG 1/0, amplifier quantity 2. A heavier gauge like 1/0 is typically used when total current draw is high or the run from the battery to the distribution point is longer.
- 010-13641-00: AWG 2, amplifier quantity 2. 2 AWG is often used to keep voltage drop in check on dual-amplifier installs while staying easier to route than 1/0.
- 010-13452-00: AWG 4, amplifier quantity 2. 4 AWG can fit many moderate-current dual-amplifier systems, especially when routing space is limited.
- 010-13454-00: AWG 8, amplifier quantity 1. 8 AWG is commonly used for smaller single-amplifier installs and is easier to pull through rigging tubes and bulkheads.
- 010-13453-00: AWG 4, amplifier quantity 1. 4 AWG for a single amplifier is a practical choice when the run is longer or the amplifier draw is higher.
Installation and setup
Route the power cable away from sharp edges and moving parts, and support it so it cannot whip or rub through insulation over time. Where the cable passes through fiberglass, aluminum, or bulkheads, use proper edge protection and grommets, then seal penetrations to limit water intrusion.
Use the correct crimp tools and lugs for the selected gauge and your amplifier terminal style, and seal terminations to slow corrosion in salt air. A clean ground matters as much as the positive feed, so keep the ground path short, use a solid attachment point, and avoid stacking loose hardware that can work free with vibration.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm the cable gauge you choose will physically fit through your boat’s rigging routes and clamps, and that the amplifier power inputs accept that conductor size. If you are feeding two amplifiers, plan the layout so service access remains straightforward, with enough slack for future removal without stressing connections.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for boats adding an amplifier for a subwoofer, upgrading cockpit speakers with dedicated amplification, or running separate amplifiers for cabin and exterior zones. It also suits refits where you want to replace undersized or aging power wiring with a gauge that matches the system load and the actual cable run on the boat.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
