Overview
The Victron Energy Lynx Shunt VE.Can is a 1000A DC busbar shunt with an integrated battery monitor and main fuse holder for Victron Lynx distribution systems. It combines positive and negative busbars, shunt-based battery monitoring, fuse placement, and VE.Can communication in one module, which makes it a clean fit for boat DC systems built around a central house bank and high-current distribution.
It supports 12V, 24V, and 48V systems, with a 9 - 70 Vdc supply voltage range and a 1000 Adc continuous current rating. Battery state of charge, current, voltage, operating state, and alarms can be viewed through a GX device such as a Cerbo GX, with VE.Can connection through RJ45 ports.
For marine installs, this unit belongs in a dry electrical compartment with protection from spray and washdown water. The enclosure is ABS with an IP22 protection class, while the internal busbars are tinned copper for DC power distribution environments where clean connections and correct fusing matter.
Key features
- 1000 Adc continuous current rating for 12V, 24V, and 48V DC systems.
- 9 - 70 Vdc supply voltage range for use across common marine house bank voltages.
- Combines a positive busbar, negative busbar, battery monitor, and main system fuse holder in one Lynx module.
- VE.Can communication lets a GX device show measured values, battery SoC, operating state, and alarms.
- RJ45 VE.Can interface with two RJ45 VE.Can terminators included for network termination.
- Battery temperature monitoring is supported through the included temperature sensor and screw terminal connection.
- Tinned copper busbars, ABS enclosure, 190 x 180 x 80 mm housing, and 1.4 kg unit weight.
- IP22 protection class, so installation should be in a sheltered electrical area rather than an exposed cockpit, bilge, or washdown location.
- M8 model accepts a CNN fuse, while the M10 model can accommodate CNN, ANL, or Mega fuses. The main fuse is purchased separately.
Variants
The Lynx Shunt VE.Can is offered in two busbar connection configurations. The core monitoring function, VE.Can communication, 1000A continuous current rating, 9 - 70 Vdc supply voltage range, ABS enclosure, tinned copper busbars, and IP22 protection class remain the same across both versions.
The key difference is the busbar connection size and whether a fuse dummy busbar is included. M8 and M10 Lynx modules are not mixed directly in the same mechanical connection line, so the busbar size should match the rest of the Lynx layout on board.
- LYN040102100: M8 busbar connection, fuse dummy busbar not included. This version matches M8 Lynx systems and is made for installations where the main fuse is installed in the shunt using a CNN fuse.
- LYN040102110: M10 busbar connection, fuse dummy busbar included. This version matches M10 Lynx systems and includes the dummy busbar for layouts where the main fuse is placed outside the shunt.
System integration
The Lynx Shunt VE.Can works as part of the modular Lynx distribution system, sitting between the battery side and the load or charger side of the DC system. In a typical boat installation, batteries connect to the left side of the Lynx system and loads, chargers, or inverter chargers connect to the right side so the shunt can calculate state of charge correctly.
When connected to a GX device, the shunt becomes part of the vessel’s monitoring setup rather than just a hidden busbar component. With the proper VE.Can to NMEA 2000 micro-C cable, communication with an NMEA 2000 network is also possible for supported battery and DC status data.
Installation notes
The unit should be mounted where the cover can be accessed and where cable bends, fuse access, and Lynx module interconnections have enough working space. The first and last devices on a VE.Can chain need terminators installed, and two terminators are supplied with the shunt for that purpose.
Cable size, fuse rating, and lug selection need to match the maximum current that can occur in the connected circuits. On a cruising boat, fishing boat, or other vessel with a high-current DC house bank, this unit is most useful when the owner wants one central point for current measurement, main system fusing, and data visibility through the Victron monitoring ecosystem.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
