Overview
The JL Audio Powered Network Cable for MediaMaster Source Units is a powered NMEA 2000 cable used to link a compatible MediaMaster source unit with one MediaMaster MMR-40 NMEA 2000 Network Controller or a compatible MFD on a small, stand-alone NMEA 2000 segment.
It is offered in 6 ft (1.83 m) and 25 ft (7.62 m) lengths for clean routing from the helm area to an audio source location, while keeping the network simple and contained.
This cable setup supports a maximum of two NMEA 2000 devices. If your boat has additional NMEA 2000 devices on the same network, plan on a full NMEA 2000 backbone instead, since this powered cable is not used in that type of network build.
Key features
- Creates an isolated, stand-alone NMEA 2000 segment to connect a compatible MediaMaster source unit with one MMR-40 controller or a compatible MFD.
- Supports a maximum of two NMEA 2000 devices on the segment.
- Length options: 6 ft (1.83 m) or 25 ft (7.62 m) for short runs or longer routing through consoles and rigging paths.
- For MM100s (not MM100s-BE), an adapter is required: MMC-DN2K-1 or MMC-DN2K-6 to adapt the Deutsch connector to an NMEA 2000 5-pin Micro-C connector.
- Not used with a full NMEA 2000 backbone when the network includes additional NMEA 2000 devices beyond this two-device limit.
Variants
This product is available in multiple lengths to match different helm-to-source routing distances on board.
The only difference between the options is cable length.
- 010-13858-00: Length 6 ft (1.83 m). A shorter run that keeps routing tidy when the source unit and control point are close together.
- 010-13859-00: Length 25 ft (7.62 m). Extra reach for boats where the source unit is mounted farther from the helm or where the cable needs to follow longer rigging routes.
What’s included
- Powered network cable (selected length)
Installation and setup
Route the cable like other network wiring on a boat: support it along the run, avoid tight bends, keep it away from chafe points, and leave a small service loop at each end for future access. If the run passes through a console or bulkhead, use proper grommets or conduit to protect the jacket.
Because this cable is intended for a small, stand-alone NMEA 2000 segment, confirm your system plan before pulling wire. It fits setups where a single compatible MediaMaster source unit needs NMEA 2000 integration with one MMR-40 controller or a compatible MFD, without building out a larger NMEA 2000 backbone.
Compatibility and system planning
This cable is a good match for boaters who want MediaMaster control and integration on NMEA 2000 with a simple two-device segment, such as a helm display paired with an audio source unit. If your vessel already runs multiple NMEA 2000 instruments or you need to add more devices later, a standard NMEA 2000 backbone is the better network foundation.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
