Overview
The TACO Marine F30-0863BSA-1 is a portable Transom Cross Tie Cleat XL for keeping stern dock lines elevated and clear of outboard motor cowlings during short-term docking. It gives the stern a raised tie-off point when the dock sits lower than the engines, which is a common issue on center consoles, bay boats, and other outboard-powered boats.
This XL cleat uses a brushed aluminum finish with a 15 degree S-shape, 9 in. cleat design. The 5-1/2 in. sleeve fits into standard 1-7/8 in. open-bottom gunwale rod holders, and the latching mechanism holds the cleat in place while still allowing it to be removed and stowed when it is not needed.
The cleat accepts dock lines up to 5/8 in. and can also be used for light onboard tasks such as hanging fenders or chum bags. It is useful for docking and temporary tie-off situations, but it is not intended for permanent docking.
Key features
- Raises stern dock lines to help keep them away from outboard motor cowlings when tying off at the transom.
- Fits standard 1-7/8 in. open-bottom gunwale rod holders with a 5-1/2 in. sleeve.
- 15 degree S-shape, 9 in. cleat gives room to manage dock lines up to 5/8 in.
- Latching mechanism helps hold the cleat in the rod holder while keeping removal and reinstallation straightforward.
- Brushed aluminum finish suits visible cockpit and transom areas without adding permanent hardware.
- Loop hole design supports additional temporary uses such as hanging fenders or chum bags.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
This cleat drops into a compatible open-bottom rod holder, so it is a practical option when the boat already has stern or gunwale rod holders in the right location. Before ordering, check that the rod holder is open at the bottom and has a 1-7/8 in. diameter opening that can accept the sleeve.
Because it is removable, it works well for boaters who want a clean deck layout while underway and a more convenient stern tie-off point when they arrive at the dock. It should be stowed when not in use and should not replace a fixed cleat for long-term mooring.
Use on board
The Transom Cross Tie Cleat XL is a good match for outboard boats that regularly dock stern-to or alongside docks where the line angle would otherwise run too low across the engines. It helps keep dock lines organized during arrival, fueling, marina stops, and short dockside stays.
For fishing boats, the removable format is also useful because the cleat can be installed only when needed, leaving the rod holder available for normal use the rest of the time.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
