Overview
The JL Audio MVi Marine Amplifier is a DSP-equipped marine audio amplifier family for 12 V, negative-ground boats (10 to 15 V DC operating range), with options from 1 to 8 channels and 400 W to 1000 W total power.
Setup is handled in software instead of on-board knobs. Configuration and tuning are done through the TüN application using a USB connection, and the system can be expanded with optional accessories for network control and wireless tuning.
Mount it vertically with the connections pointing downward to achieve an IPX2 water-resistance rating, and treat it like any other high-current audio component: protect it from direct weather, standing water, and high-pressure spray.

Variants
This amplifier family is offered in multiple configurations that vary mainly by channel count (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, or 8 channels) and total power (400 W to 1000 W).
The range includes monoblock models intended for subwoofers, full-range multi-channel models for speaker zones around the boat, and 5-channel system amplifiers for mixed speaker and subwoofer setups from a single chassis.
Installation and setup
Mount the amplifier in a dry, well-ventilated location that does not interfere with existing systems. Secure it so it cannot move under vibration or impact, and keep enough open air around the chassis for heat to shed during long listening sessions.
For best moisture management, position it vertically with all connections pointing downward and route wiring so condensation drips away from the connectors. IPX2 water-resistance is achieved in that orientation, but it is still not a part to mount where it can be submerged or blasted during washdowns.
After wiring, connect with USB and use the TüN interface to set input routing, output levels, and presets. Final tuning is best done once the system is playing on the water, with the charging system at normal voltage.
Electrical and system integration
These amplifiers are intended for 12 V DC, negative-ground systems only. Run tinned copper power and ground, keep grounds consistent across the audio system, and protect the main feed with an appropriate fuse or ignition-protected breaker installed within 7 inches (18 cm) of the battery connection, sized for the amplifier and the cable run.
The power connector is sized for up to 4 AWG copper. A remote turn-on lead from the source unit is used to switch the amplifier on, and a switched 12 V source can be used when a dedicated remote output is not available.
Compatibility and signal routing
Signal connections are RCA, and the differential-balanced input stage helps keep alternator whine and other noise out of the system on longer cable runs. Depending on the model, the input section can accept up to 8 VRMS or 16 VRMS, which can simplify integration with higher-voltage source outputs.
Line-level pre-outs (max 4 V RMS) support system expansion without splitting source outputs at the helm, and the JLid-COMM port allows add-on control and multi-amplifier integration when you are building out a larger audio system.
Use cases on board
Use the monoblock versions when you want a dedicated subwoofer channel, or step up to multi-channel models when you are powering cockpit, cabin, tower, or transom speakers with DSP control. The 5-channel options cover a mixed system where you want speakers and a subwoofer handled in one amplifier.
This lineup fits boats where the audio system needs careful tuning to stay clean at speed, and where installers want a repeatable setup with saved presets for different listening conditions.
Maintenance and care
After a few trips, recheck mounting hardware and the power connector set screws, and inspect wiring for chafe where it passes through bulkheads or lockers. Keep ventilation paths clear and address any signs of moisture tracking toward connectors by improving cable routing and drip loops.

Processing and dispatch

For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
