Overview
The Raymarine E70298 is a CP470 2 kW CHIRP sonar module for adding high-resolution fishfinder capability to a compatible Raymarine multifunction display. It uses two adjustable CHIRP sonar channels across a 25 kHz to 255 kHz frequency range, giving offshore anglers the detail needed to separate fish, bait, thermoclines, and bottom structure in deep water.
The module runs on 12 V dc or 24 V dc systems, with an operating voltage range of 10.8 V dc to 31.2 V dc and maximum power consumption of 30.6 W. Depth capability reaches up to 3,000 m or 10,000 ft depending on the connected transducer, so the final installation should be matched with the right low, medium, or high CHIRP transducer for the boat and fishing grounds.
With an IPX6 waterproof rating, RayNet networking, and a separate transducer connection, the CP470 is built for remote mounting in an electronics locker, console, cabin, or other protected onboard location where it can stay connected to the vessel network while keeping sonar processing separate from the display.
Key features
- Wide-spectrum CHIRP sonar module with up to 2 kW maximum output, depending on the transducer used.
- Dual adjustable CHIRP channels support independent viewing and control on compatible Raymarine multifunction displays.
- Tracks fish, bait, and bottom structure down to 3,000 m or 10,000 ft when paired with a suitable transducer and installation.
- Frequency coverage from 25 kHz to 255 kHz works with optional low, medium, and high CHIRP transducers in standard or wide-beam options.
- TruZoom magnification shows extra target detail without reducing sonar image resolution.
- RayNet 10 / 100 Mb/s network connection links the module to compatible Raymarine displays.
- 12 V dc and 24 V dc system support, with a 10.8 V dc to 31.2 V dc operating voltage range.
- IPX6 waterproof rating helps the unit handle spray and wet marine environments when installed correctly.
- Compact black box form factor measures 205.6 mm high, 299.4 mm wide, and 84.4 mm deep.
Installation and setup
The CP470 is a black box module, so it is normally mounted away from the helm display and connected into the boat electronics system. It has dedicated connections for power, RayNet networking, and the transducer, which keeps the wiring layout straightforward during a new install or sonar upgrade.
A 5 A fuse rating is specified for the power circuit. The unit also draws up to 3 A RMS, so cable routing, circuit protection, and grounding should be handled carefully, especially on boats with long DC cable runs or mixed 12 V and 24 V equipment.
The housing weighs 1.54 kg or 3.39 lb. Mount it where the cables can be supported properly and where the module is protected from physical impact, standing water, and unnecessary heat while still allowing access for service.
Compatibility and fit
The CP470 connects to Raymarine chartplotter and multifunction display systems through RayNet. It is compatible with Raymarine aSeries, cSeries, eSeries, and gS Series displays, and it also works within Raymarine LightHouse display environments that support CP470 sonar control.
Transducer choice has a major effect on the sonar result. Low CHIRP is commonly used for deeper water and broad bottom coverage, while medium and high CHIRP are more often used where target detail and bait separation are the priority. Standard and wide-beam transducer options allow the setup to be matched to offshore trolling, bottom fishing, canyon runs, or coastal fishing.
Use cases on board
This module suits boats that need more sonar power and target detail than a basic built-in fishfinder can deliver. It is a strong match for offshore center consoles, sportfishing boats, larger pilothouse boats, and serious coastal fishing setups already using compatible Raymarine displays.
The CP470 is especially useful when the crew needs to read through bait, hold bottom in rough conditions, or compare sonar views from two CHIRP channels at the same time. It is not a standalone display, so it should be bought as part of a complete Raymarine display, network, and transducer system.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
