Overview

The Garmin 010-13007-00 is a GNA 10 jog lever adapter that lets you connect a compatible jog lever setup to a Reactor 40 autopilot through an NMEA 2000 network. It is powered from the NMEA 2000 bus (9 to 32 V DC) and includes a 2.8 m cable for routing from the network drop to a protected mounting spot near the helm wiring.

This adapter can also interface an optional button and LED indicator so the operator can switch between heading hold and standby from a simple control station. It carries an IPX7 water rating for real-world cockpit spray and washdowns, and it is rated for -20 C to 75 C operating temperatures. It does not support two-speed jog levers that use two separate sets of switches.

Key features
  • NMEA 2000 output with power from the NMEA 2000 bus (9 to 32 V DC)
  • 2.8 m cable for practical routing behind helm panels and console runs
  • IPX7 water rating for wet environments and routine washdowns
  • Operating temperature range of -20 C to 75 C
  • Supports common jog levers including Kobelt 7170, Jastram JO100/JO300, and Simrad S35
  • Optional external button support (DPST OFF-MOM or SPST) plus LED indicator support up to 20 mA
  • NMEA 2000 LEN 5 (up to 250 mA at 9 V DC) for network load planning
Compatibility and fit

The GNA 10 is intended for displacement hull powerboats using a compatible Garmin autopilot and a compatible Garmin display. It is commonly used on workboats and trawlers where a jog lever style control is preferred for simple, repeatable steering adjustments while the autopilot is engaged.

It can also be used to interface a Reactor 40 autopilot with Jastram digital steering controls. Jog lever compatibility is specific to the supported models, and two-speed jog levers with two sets of switches are not supported.

Installation and setup

Plan the install like any other NMEA 2000 accessory: connect the unit to your backbone with an appropriate drop, then route the 2.8 m lead to a dry, accessible area for the control wiring. Keep the adapter and wiring away from direct bilge water, and leave enough service loop so the helm panel can be removed later without pulling on connections.

When wiring a jog lever, optional button, or LED indicator, match the switch type and LED current requirements to what the adapter supports. Use proper strain relief, tidy cable runs, and a drip loop where wiring enters the console to reduce water intrusion risk.

Electrical and system integration

Power comes directly from the NMEA 2000 network over a 9 to 32 V DC range, which fits both 12 V and 24 V boats without a separate power feed. With an LEN of 5, it is straightforward to account for the network load when you are sizing the backbone power and fusing.

Use cases on board

This setup is a good match for operators who want jog lever control at the helm for slow-speed maneuvering routines such as docking, line handling, or controlled course tweaks while working a channel. It also makes sense on boats where the helm station uses simple button and LED feedback rather than a dedicated remote control head.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt residue from the exterior during routine washdowns and keep electrical connections clean, dry, and supported so vibration does not work them loose. If the helm area is frequently wet, take the time to seal cable penetrations and periodically inspect for corrosion around connectors and splices.
