Overview
The TACO Marine Stainless Steel Clamp-On Adjustable Rod Holder is a polished Type 316L stainless steel rod holder for adding secure rod storage to existing rail, pipe, or tube locations without welding or fabrication. It is made for clamp-on installation on vertical or horizontal pipe and tube, with a rod holder inside diameter of 1-5/8 inches and a form-fitted white PVC liner to help protect the rod finish.
This holder is especially useful around T-tops, leaning posts, poling platforms, bow rails, and other fishing stations where a fixed rod holder is not already in place. The clamp system uses inserts for the supported rail size, and the holder rotates and locks every 18 degrees so the rod angle can be set for trolling, drifting, storage, or keeping a rig ready while working the deck.
Key features
- Polished Type 316L stainless steel construction for use in saltwater fishing environments.
- Clamp-on mounting avoids welding and keeps installation practical on existing boat rail, pipe, or tube.
- Works on vertical or horizontal mounting points, depending on the available structure on board.
- Rotates and locks every 18 degrees for controlled rod angle placement.
- Form-fitted white PVC liner helps reduce contact between the rod and stainless steel holder.
- 1-5/8 inch rod holder inside diameter fits many common fishing rod handles.
- Available in two clamp size configurations for different pipe and tube diameters.
Variants
This clamp-on adjustable rod holder is offered in two size configurations, so the main difference is the outside diameter of the rail, pipe, or tube the clamp fits.
Both versions share the same polished stainless steel construction, adjustable locking angle, clamp-on mounting style, and 1-5/8 inch rod holder inside diameter.
- F16-2623POL-1: Fits 1-1/16 inch and 1-5/16 inch outside diameter pipe, and 1-1/4 inch outside diameter tube. This size is commonly used on T-top rings, leaning posts, and poling platforms where larger pipe or tube is present.
- F16-2600POL-1: Fits 7/8 inch and 1 inch outside diameter tube. This size suits smaller stainless tube locations, including many bow rail and rail-mounted fishing setups.
Installation and setup
Mounting is handled with the clamp around the supported tube or pipe size, so the first step is confirming the outside diameter of the mounting point on the boat. A small difference in rail size matters here, especially when working with stainless bow rails, T-top frames, or custom-fabricated pipework.
Once clamped in place, the holder can be rotated to the preferred fishing angle and locked into one of the 18-degree positions. This makes it easier to keep rods angled away from canvas, antennas, passengers, or other gear while still keeping them within reach.
Use cases on board
This rod holder fits boats that need more rod positions without cutting into the gunwale or adding permanent welded hardware. It works well for fishing boats, center consoles, bay boats, and work areas around T-tops, leaning posts, poling platforms, and bow rails.
It is a practical match for owners who want a stainless holder that can be added to an existing rail location while keeping rod angle adjustment available for different fishing styles and deck layouts.
