Overview
The JL Audio M3-10IB is a 10 in (250 mm) marine subwoofer driver for infinite-baffle installs, with 4 ohm impedance and 175 W continuous power handling.
It fits the common boat layouts where the back of the speaker vents into a larger cavity, like a helm console, cockpit side panel, or an under-seat bulkhead. Infinite-baffle use is the preferred setup, with at least 2 cu. ft. (56.6 L) of clear air space behind the driver. It can also be installed in a sealed enclosure when you need a dedicated box.
Plan for an 8.875 in (225 mm) cutout and 5.00 in (127 mm) mounting depth. Front clearance depends on the grille: Classic protrudes 1.50 in (38 mm) and Sport protrudes 1.58 in (40 mm).
Key features
- 10 in (250 mm) subwoofer driver with 4 ohm nominal impedance
- 175 W continuous power handling for moderate-power marine audio systems
- Infinite-baffle use preferred, with at least 2 cu. ft. (56.6 L) of open air volume behind the mounting surface
- Also supports sealed enclosure installs when you need to control the back wave
- Mounting dimensions: 8.875 in (225 mm) cutout, 5.00 in (127 mm) mounting depth, 10.75 in (273 mm) outer diameter
- RGB illumination variants add built-in grille lighting with a 10 to 14.4 V DC operating range
- Included stainless-steel mounting hardware for typical fiberglass and composite panels
Variants
This subwoofer is offered with different grille looks and with or without built-in RGB illumination.
Across the range, the driver size, 4-ohm load, and mounting cutout stay consistent. The differences are the grille color and style (Classic vs Sport) and whether a separate LED harness is present for accent lighting.
- 010-03264-00: RGB Illumination Yes; Grille Color/Style Gray Sport. The illuminated grille adds a separate 12 V lighting circuit to run alongside the audio wiring.
- 010-03071-00: RGB Illumination No; Grille Color/Style Gray Sport. This version keeps the install to speaker wiring only, with no LED leads to route or fuse.
- 010-03265-00: RGB Illumination Yes; Grille Color/Style White Sport. The Sport grille stands slightly further proud of the panel and includes the RGB harness for accent lighting.
- 010-03072-00: RGB Illumination No; Grille Color/Style White Sport. You get the Sport look in white without adding any lighting connections.
- 010-03070-00: RGB Illumination No; Grille Color/Style White Classic. The Classic grille has a flatter face than Sport and slightly less front protrusion.
Installation and fit
Choose a flat mounting surface with room for the 5.00 in (127 mm) mounting depth and for cable routing. For infinite-baffle installs, the space behind the driver needs to stay mostly open, since a packed compartment can reduce output and create buzzes.
Cut the 8.875 in (225 mm) opening, test-fit the frame, then mark and drill pilot holes for the mounting screws. Tighten in steps around the circle so the frame seats evenly on fiberglass or composite panels.
Audio system integration
This is a passive 4-ohm subwoofer driver that connects to a marine amplifier through spade terminals. Pair it with an amplifier channel that is comfortable at a 4-ohm load, then set your crossover so your main speakers are not asked to play the lowest bass notes.
It works best as a dedicated subwoofer channel instead of relying on an in-line passive coil in the speaker wiring.
RGB illumination wiring
Illuminated versions add a separate RGB harness that runs on 10 to 14.4 V DC. The main LED positive is a yellow lead, with separate red, green, and blue negatives, and the circuit draws 108 mA at 12 V.
Protect the yellow lead with a 150 mA fuse at each speaker location and use at least 16 AWG wire for the LED circuit. Do not connect the LEDs to 24 V systems or to navigation light circuits.
Care on board
The speaker is water and spray resistant, but it is not meant to be submerged or blasted with high-pressure spray. After saltwater use, rinse with fresh water and clean with mild soap to keep the grille finish in good shape.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
