Overview
The Blue Sea Systems Dual Entry CableCap is an insulating cover for PowerPost cable connections, used to help reduce the risk of accidental short circuits at exposed high-current terminals. It is made for marine electrical installations where battery, busbar, or distribution connections need a clean protective cap without making the connection point difficult to reach.
This dual-entry cap accepts cables up to 2/0 AWG or 70 mm², with a cable entry size of 0.7 in. (17.78 mm). The top lid gives access to the connection point, which is useful during installation, inspection, or service work in tight battery compartments, helm wiring spaces, and other DC power areas on board.
Key features
- Dual-entry PowerPost cable insulator for covering exposed terminal connections.
- Helps protect against accidental short circuits around high-current DC connection points.
- Top lid allows access to the connection point without removing the entire cap.
- Fits cable sizes up to 2/0 AWG or 70 mm².
- 0.7 in. (17.78 mm) cable entry size supports large marine battery and power distribution cables.
- Available in black and red for easier visual separation of negative and positive DC connections.
Variants
This CableCap is offered in two color configurations for matching common marine DC wiring layouts.
The color changes between variants, while the dual-entry layout, top lid access, cable size capacity up to 2/0 AWG or 70 mm², and 0.7 in. cable entry size remain the same across both listed versions.
- 4002, color black. The black cap suits negative DC connection points or installations where a low-profile visual appearance is preferred.
- 4003, color red. The red cap suits positive DC connection points and helps make protected live-side connections easier to identify during inspection or service.
Compatibility and fit
This insulator is intended for PowerPost-style cable terminations and other compatible terminal locations where the cable routing matches the dual-entry cap layout. Before installation, confirm the terminal style, available clearance, and cable diameter against the 0.7 in. entry size.
Installation and use on board
Install the cap so the cable exits are not forced or sharply bent, especially in battery compartments where large conductors can be stiff. The top lid is helpful when checking terminal tightness or inspecting the connection after service, while the covered body keeps the exposed connection better protected from dropped tools and nearby conductive parts.
This is a practical fit for boat owners and technicians organizing DC power connections in battery banks, distribution panels, busbar areas, and equipment spaces where large conductors are present and terminal protection matters.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
