Overview
The Attwood Marine 66470-7 is a closed-end flush mount rod holder with a 30° tube angle, a black UV-resistant liner, a 2 inch diameter, and a 9 inch tube length. The polished 316 stainless steel tube works well on boats that see salt spray, washdowns, and constant vibration around the gunwale or cockpit.
This is the closed-end style, so it suits enclosed gunwales and similar installations where water needs to be managed below the mounting surface. A gasket is included to seal around the flange, and the tube includes a drainage opening for a 1/4-18 NPT fitting. The liner helps keep the rod butt and reel from rubbing directly against the stainless surface.
Key features
- 30° flush mount angle for a fixed rod position used for trolling, drifting, or keeping the cockpit clear
- Closed-end body with a drainage opening for a 1/4-18 NPT fitting in enclosed gunwale installations
- Polished 316 stainless steel tube for corrosion resistance in freshwater and saltwater use
- 2 inch diameter and 9 inch tube length in a common flush-mount size
- Black UV-resistant polymer liner helps protect rod and reel finish inside the tube
- Gasket included to help seal around the flange
- Optional UV-resistant cover cap and gasket available to close the tube when it is not in use
Installation and fit
Check below-deck clearance before cutting because the tube length is 9 inches, and leave room for drain routing if you are plumbing the closed end. The 30° angle sets the rod at a fixed outward lean, which is a common layout on trolling and general fishing boats where rods need to stay out of the way without adding hardware above the deck line.
This holder is a good match for center consoles, walkarounds, bay boats, and sportfishing layouts with solid gunwale space for a flush install. It also makes sense where a stainless finish needs to sit cleanly against the deck and the rod needs to stay at one set angle instead of moving on an adjustable mount.
What’s included

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
