Overview
The TACO Marine L10-1002-1 is a universal removable leaning post backrest for adding back support to a center console, fishing boat, or other vessel with a compatible leaning post. It has a white cushioned backrest, adjustable folding arms, and a compact 34" width that suits many common helm seating layouts without turning the cockpit into a crowded workspace.
This backrest is made to fit TACO Marine Neptune Premium and Neptune II leaning posts, and the adjustable arms allow it to adapt to most standard leaning posts. The cushion measures 7-3/8" high, with a 17-1/2" extended arm height, 34" width, and 3" depth, giving the buyer useful measurements to compare against the existing post and available clearance behind the helm.
For anglers and day boaters, the folding arm design is practical when the backrest is not needed or when space is tight around rod holders, tackle storage, or a cooler under the leaning post. The white cushion is easy to wipe down after salt spray, sunscreen, fish handling, or general cockpit use.

- Made in the USA and covered by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
Before installation, compare the 34" overall width and 3" depth with the available space around the leaning post, rod holders, console, and aft cockpit traffic path. The adjustable arms are useful when matching the backrest to different rod holder spacing, but the post still needs enough clearance for the arms to fold and for the cushion to sit comfortably behind the user.
This is a practical upgrade for boats where the leaning post is already in the right position but lacks back support for longer runs, trolling, drifting, or standing and leaning at the helm. It works especially well on center consoles and fishing boats where cockpit space matters and removable or folding seating hardware is preferred over a fixed seat back.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, rinse the backrest and mounting areas with fresh water and wipe the white cushion clean before storage. Keeping the folding arms free of salt buildup helps the mechanism move smoothly and makes the backrest easier to handle when it is folded away between trips.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
