Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD is an electronic chart for the VEU489S Kuopio to Lappeenranta area, available on microSD/SD or as a downloadable chart.
Coverage focuses on inland Finnish waters, including Oulujarvi, Ontojarvi, Pielinen, Kallavesi, Haukivesi, and Saimaa. Chart presentation includes depth range shading (up to 10 ranges), user-set shallow water shading, and detail down to 1-foot contours where available, which helps when you are watching for shoals, planning anchor spots, or looking for structure.
Vision content adds layers that are useful on unfamiliar water, like satellite imagery overlay in supported areas, 3D views (FishEye and MarinerEye), and aerial photos for many ports, harbors, and marinas. Auto Guidance can suggest a route based on your depth and overhead clearance settings, but it is still up to you to navigate safely and follow local markings and conditions.
Key features
- Region code VEU489S: Kuopio to Lappeenranta coverage

- Aerial photos for many ports, harbors, and marinas to help with real-world visual references
Variants
This chart is offered in two configurations that differ by how you receive and activate the mapping.
The coverage area and chart features remain the same for VEU489S; the difference is whether you run it from a preloaded card or install it through Garmin Express.
- 010-C0833-00 (Format: microSD/SD). Insert the card into a compatible Garmin chartplotter card slot and select the chart layer on the plotter.
- 010-D0423-00 (Format: Download). Install through Garmin Express to a compatible device and its chart media, then use the chart from the card in the plotter.
Compatibility and fit
This cartography is intended for compatible Garmin chartplotters that support BlueChart g3 Vision mapping. If you are using the microSD/SD version, confirm your display has the correct card slot or an approved adapter. For the download version, plan on using Garmin Express and the chart media your device expects for map storage.
Installation and setup
For the card format, power the chartplotter down, insert the microSD/SD card, then restart and enable the BlueChart layer in the chart menu. For the download format, run Garmin Express on a computer, follow the prompts to download and write the charts to the correct media, then move that media to the chartplotter before heading out.
Use on board
This is a strong match for skippers running routes across the Kuopio to Lappeenranta region and the surrounding lake systems who want more on-screen context than basic basemaps. It is also helpful for anglers who rely on contour detail and depth shading to stay on structure while still keeping safe water margins in view.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
