Overview

The Blue Sea Systems Push Button LED Ring Switch is a 12V DC panel switch with an illuminated ring for clear circuit control at the helm, console, cockpit panel, or equipment station. It is rated for 10A continuous service, with a 10A rating at 12V DC resistive loads and 3A at 12V DC inductive loads, making it suited to many low-voltage marine switching jobs where the load is within the switch rating.

This range uses independent LED illumination, so the ring light has separate contacts for LED power. The switch can be wired for single pole double throw or single pole single throw use, and it can be set up for normally open or normally closed operation depending on the circuit layout. The IP67 rating, 3/4 inch mounting hole, and 0.110 inch quick-connect terminals make it a practical fit for marine panels exposed to spray, vibration, and routine washdowns.

Variants

This switch is offered in four configurations that change the LED ring color and the switching action.

The electrical rating, 12V DC nominal voltage, mounting hole size, terminal style, independent LED illumination, and IP67 rating remain consistent across the listed variants.

• 4160 has a blue LED ring with OFF-ON action. The maintained action stays in the selected position until pressed again, which suits circuits that need a latched on or off state.
• 4162 has a red LED ring with OFF-ON action. The red ring gives a clear visual cue on panels where the circuit should stand out, while the maintained action keeps the load switched on until changed.
• 4161 has a blue LED ring with OFF-(ON) action. The parentheses indicate momentary ON operation, so the circuit is active only while the button is pressed.
• 4163 has a red LED ring with OFF-(ON) action. The momentary action is useful for controls that should return to OFF after release, such as horn, start, or other short-duration circuits within rating.

Installation and setup

Mount the switch in a 3/4 inch opening on a panel no thicker than 0.31 inch. The five quick-connect terminals help keep wiring serviceable, especially when working behind compact helm panels or accessory switch banks. As with any marine DC circuit, the load, wiring, overcurrent protection, and panel location should match the vessel’s electrical plan.

The separate LED power contacts are useful when the ring light needs to follow a different logic than the switched load. For example, the illumination can be wired as a locator light, a status indicator, or part of a panel lighting circuit, as long as the installation follows the switch rating and the vessel’s wiring standards.

Use on board
