Overview

The Raymarine E15023 is a SmartController wireless remote and instrument repeater for Raymarine SeaTalk autopilot systems, supplied with the wireless base station for connection to the onboard SeaTalk network. It lets you steer by autopilot and view key instrument or navigation data from the helm, cockpit, deck, or another spot on board without standing directly in front of the main display.

The handset uses a 64 x 127 dot matrix display with backlighting, so course and instrument information can be read in changing light. It supports up to eight user-definable data pages with single, dual, or four-line layouts, and it can show a graphical CDI display for course deviation checks while underway.

Wireless range is up to 32 ft (10 m) from the base station. The rechargeable handset charges through the SeaTalk-powered mounting cradle, with battery life rated up to two weeks on a single charge, making it practical for regular cruising, sailing, and fishing use where autopilot access from more than one position is useful.

Compatibility and integration

This SmartController is built for Raymarine SeaTalk networks, so it is most relevant for boats already running a compatible Raymarine autopilot and SeaTalk instrument system. The base station connects into the existing SeaTalk network, allowing the handset to act as both an autopilot remote and a wireless instrument repeater.

For buyers replacing an older remote or adding control away from the helm, the key fit check is the onboard network. This unit is for SeaTalk systems, not a standalone remote for unrelated autopilot brands or networks.

Installation and setup

The included wireless base station is the link between the handset and the boat's SeaTalk system. Mount the base station where it can communicate reliably with the areas where the remote will be used, then connect it to the SeaTalk network and power path as required for that system.

The charging cradle keeps the handset ready between trips and avoids disposable batteries. On a cruising sailboat or powerboat, that makes the remote easy to keep near the helm, companionway, nav station, or another regular watch position.

Use on board

This remote is a strong match for skippers who want autopilot control while moving around the cockpit, trimming sails, watching fishing lines, or checking the deck without losing access to course control and key instrument data. It is especially useful where the main pilot control head is not visible from every working position on board.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
