Overview
The Garmin 010-10603-00 is a 2-pack of marinized RJ45 connector kits for terminating or repairing Garmin Marine Network Ethernet cables on a boat. Each kit includes an RJ45 modular plug, a connector housing with strain relief, an O-ring, and copper tape for the cable shield and drain wire.
This is the part you reach for when you need to pull a network cable through tight conduits, rigging tubes, or a hardtop before the plug can be installed, or when a damaged end needs to be re-terminated without replacing the whole run. Garmin Marine Network cabling uses a crossover arrangement and the cable run between devices should not exceed 100 m.
Key features
- Field-terminable RJ45 connection for Garmin Marine Network cabling, useful after routing cable through chases and tight pass-throughs
- Connector housing with strain relief and an O-ring to help keep the termination sealed at the plug end
- Supplied copper tape supports proper shield and drain wire termination on shielded Ethernet cable
- Supports the side A and side B terminations used to create the required crossover cable for Garmin Marine Network
- Intended for Garmin Marine Network runs up to 100 m between devices
Installation and setup
Plan the cable route first, then terminate once the cable is in place. Installation requires a standard RJ45 modular plug crimping tool, plus a 15 mm wrench to snug the strain-relief nut.
Garmin Marine Network terminations are not the same on both ends. Match the wire order to the correct side A or side B arrangement, then crimp the plug, seat it into the housing, tighten the strain-relief nut without overtightening, and fit the O-ring onto the housing.
Compatibility and fit
This connector kit is for Garmin Marine Network connections that use a sealed RJ45-style termination. It is meant to become the cable end, not a coupler or adapter for standard office Ethernet hardware.
When building custom cables from bulk wire, use shielded Ethernet cable with a drain wire so the copper tape and housing can terminate the shield correctly. Leave enough clearance behind the connected device to tighten the strain relief and avoid sharp bends at the plug.
Use cases on board
Common uses include adding a radar scanner on a hardtop, rerouting a network cable between helm electronics and a remote module, or repairing a connector after a pull-through that nicked the plug. Keeping a spare pair onboard can help get radar or sonar data sharing back online without waiting for a replacement cable run.
This is a good match for DIY installers and technicians who are building custom Garmin Marine Network cable runs, cleaning up cable routing, or maintaining service spares for offshore and coastal boats.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
