Overview

The TACO Marine V11-0809 is a flexible vinyl rub rail kit for smaller boats that need a clean replacement rail around the hull and deck joint. The profile measures 1-1/16" x 11/16", with kit lengths available in 50' and 70' configurations depending on the boat and the amount of coverage needed.

This kit uses a black vinyl rub rail with a separate insert, giving the rail a finished look while helping protect the boat from the bumps and scuffs that happen around docks, trailers, pilings, and other boats. The flexible vinyl profile can follow curved hull shapes, and tight radius bends require only minimal heat during installation.

It is a practical fit for small boats in the 10' to 16' range, including fishing boats, bass boats, dinghies, and smaller sailboats where a compact rub rail profile makes more sense than a large commercial-style rail.

Key features
  • 1-1/16" x 11/16" flexible vinyl rub rail profile for smaller boat hull and deck joints.
  • Available in 50' and 70' kit lengths to match different hull sizes and replacement needs.
  • Soft durometer vinyl helps cushion minor contact at docks, trailers, and alongside other boats.
  • Continuous coil format supports one-piece installation without rail seams around the boat.
  • Black rub rail body with black or Arctic White insert options for matching the boat’s existing trim style.
  • Tight radius bends require minimal heat, which helps during installation around bows and curved corners.
Variants

This rub rail kit is offered in multiple configurations that change the kit length and insert color while keeping the same V11-0809 profile size.

The rail body is black across the listed configurations. The main differences are the total length supplied in the kit and whether the insert is black or Arctic White.

  • V11-0809BBK50-2: 50' length with black insert. This configuration keeps the rail and insert in the same black finish for a uniform trim line around the boat.
  • V11-0809BBK70-2: 70' length with black insert. The longer coil suits boats that need more continuous coverage while keeping the same all-black appearance.
  • V11-0809BWK50-2: 50' length with Arctic White insert. The white insert adds contrast against the black rail and can tie in with lighter hulls, decks, or existing white trim.
Installation and fit

Before ordering, measure the existing rub rail path around the boat and compare the current profile to the 1-1/16" x 11/16" shape. Extra care is useful at the bow and stern corners, where the rail must follow tighter curves and where heat may be needed to help the vinyl take the bend.

The continuous coil helps reduce visible joints along the rail, which is useful when refreshing an older boat or replacing a damaged rail after years of docking and trailering wear. Fastener placement should follow the boat’s existing structure and the installation guide included with the kit.

Use cases on board

This kit makes sense for owners replacing worn, cracked, missing, or faded rub rail on a small powerboat, dinghy, fishing boat, or sailboat. It is also useful during restoration work when the boat needs a cleaner edge around the hull and deck joint without moving to a larger rail profile.

Maintenance and care

After installation, rinse the rail with fresh water during normal washdowns, especially after saltwater use. Mild boat soap is usually enough for routine cleaning, and checking the insert and fasteners during seasonal maintenance helps keep the rail seated correctly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
