Overview
The Perko 1672 is an adjustable folding mount white all-round LED navigation light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters, with a 14 inch pole, 12 Volt DC operation, and USCG 2 nautical mile certification.
This light is made for boats that need a fixed-base all-round white light that can be raised for operation and folded down when clearance matters. The quick adjust handle has 30 degree adjustment increments and lets the pole fold 90 degrees in either direction along the plane of the mounting plate, which is useful on pontoon square rails and other flat mounting surfaces.
The LED module is self contained, with optics that adjust based on the pole mount angle. The unit uses 1.28 watts at 0.10 amps, so it is a low-draw choice for 12V house and navigation light circuits.
Key features
- White all-round LED navigation light certified for 2 nautical mile visibility on power-driven vessels under 20 meters.
- 14 inch pole with a 3/4 inch aluminum tube for a familiar fit on small-boat and pontoon navigation light installations.
- Quick adjustable folding mount lets the pole fold 90 degrees in either direction along the mount plate.
- 30 degree graduated adjustment increments help position the pole for the mounting angle on the boat.
- 12 Volt DC LED operation with 1.28 watt draw and 0.10 amp current draw.
- Clear frosted lens with a self contained LED module, so there is no navigation bulb to replace.
- Meets ABYC C-5, NMMA Type Accepted, EN/ISO 19009:2015, ABYC A-16, 1972 COLREGS, RCD 2013/53/EU, and USCG 33 CFR 2nm requirements.
- Uses #8 screws for installation on the mounting surface.
Variants
This Perko 1672 light is offered in two finish configurations. Both versions use the same 14 inch pole length and quick adjustable folding mount.
The finish changes the appearance of the pole and helps match the light to nearby rail, canvas, tower, or deck hardware. The light function, voltage, visibility rating, pole size, and base style remain the same across these two retail package variants.
- 1672DP0ALU, Finish Aluminum. This version has the aluminum finish pole appearance, which works well with common anodized rail and deck hardware finishes.
- 1672DP0BLK, Finish Black. This version has the black finish pole appearance, a better visual match for black rails, dark tops, and modern helm or deck hardware.
Installation and setup
Mount the base on a flat, secure surface where the all-round light has the required visibility when raised. The folding action is especially practical where a fixed upright pole would interfere with trailering, storage covers, low bridges, lift canopies, or movement around a pontoon rail.
Wire it into a 12V DC navigation light circuit and size the circuit protection and conductors according to the boat's electrical plan and applicable marine standards. The #8 screw size should be considered when preparing the mounting surface.
Compatibility and use on board
This light fits small powerboats and pontoons that require a white all-round navigation light for vessels under 20 meters. It is suited to freshwater or saltwater boats where a folding pole helps keep the deck or rail area clear when the light is not in use.
The 2nm certification and listed navigation light standards make it appropriate for replacing or adding a compliant all-round white LED light when the vessel layout calls for a 14 inch folding pole with a quick adjustable mount.
