Overview

The Vimar VMV71706 is a 6 to 7-module flush-mount box for hollow walls, sized to hold up to 7 modular electrical devices behind a finished panel.

The cutout pattern is laid out around a 68 mm hole saw, which helps get a clean opening in materials like plasterboard and similar thin panels. With a 50 mm internal depth and an overall footprint of 193 mm by 72.5 mm, it gives you workable space for wiring while staying tidy behind liners and console panels.

It uses halogen-free plastic and carries a glow-wire rating of 850 °C. The box is rated IP00, so it belongs in dry, protected locations rather than anywhere that sees spray or washdowns.

Key features
  • 6 to 7-module in-line box for hollow walls, supports up to 7 device positions
  • Hole preparation uses a 68 mm hole saw, with a centring plate on the back to help line things up
  • Metal fins clamp to panel thicknesses from 1 to 38 mm for a firm hold in liners and bulkheads
  • Break-out openings for conduit or sleeving in 16, 20, or 25 mm sizes, with 18 entry points total
  • Metal screw lugs for mounting device supports by screwing
  • Halogen-free plastic body with glow-wire rating 850 °C; IP00 for dry, protected installations
Installation and setup

Mark the hole pattern using the rear centring plate, drill with a 68 mm hole saw, then finish the opening so the box sits flat against the panel surface.

Bring wiring or conduit in through the break-outs, position the box, and tighten the metal fins until the box is secure. Plan for service access by leaving enough slack inside the 50 mm cavity to remove devices later without pulling on the conductors.

Compatibility and fit

This box is intended for installations that use a 6 to 7-module in-line support that screws to the box. Confirm the device support and faceplate you plan to use are sized for up to 7 modules and match the fixing points.

Because it is a hollow-wall box, it works best where there is a void behind the surface, such as cabin liners, furniture panels, and lightweight bulkheads.

Use cases on board

Common onboard locations include cabin bulkheads, nav stations, galley panels, and helm consoles where you want a flush bank of switches or outlets without adding a surface box.

It is a good match for refits and new builds that route wiring in conduit behind interior liners. For damp areas, keep the installation behind a sealed front assembly and away from direct spray, since the box itself is IP00.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
