Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VEU488S is an electronic chart for compatible Garmin chartplotters that covers Finnish inland waters around Keitele, Paijanne, and the Tampere area, including lakes such as Puula, Ahtarinjarvi, Nasijarvi, Pyhajarvi, and Lohjanjarvi.
It adds detailed depth information you can work with on the water, including depth range shading (up to 10 ranges), shallow water shading you can set to your own limit, and contour detail down to 1 foot where available. On chartplotters that support it, you also get photo and 3D layers that make it easier to read bottom shape and recognize marina and harbor approaches.
Auto Guidance can calculate a suggested route based on settings like your desired depth and overhead clearance. It is a planning aid, and you still navigate by keeping a proper lookout and cross-checking what you see on the chart with local conditions.

Variants
This chart is offered in multiple formats so you can match how you load cartography on your Garmin system.
The chart coverage remains VEU488S (Keitele Paijanne Tampere). The difference between variants is the delivery format and how it is installed on the chartplotter.
- 010-C0832-00: Format microSD/SD. A preprogrammed card that is inserted into the chartplotter microSD or SD card slot for use on board.
- 010-D0422-00: Format Download. A downloadable version that is installed using Garmin Express, then selected on the chartplotter once loaded.
Compatibility and fit
This product is intended for Garmin chartplotters that support BlueChart g3 Vision cartography. If you are using the card version, confirm your unit has the correct microSD or SD card slot. If you are using the download version, confirm your unit supports chart downloads and that you have a supported way to load the files via Garmin Express.
Feature availability can vary by chartplotter model and software level. If you care specifically about 3D views, satellite overlays, or aerial photography, make sure those layers are supported and enabled on your unit.
Installation and setup
For the microSD/SD variant, insert the card into the chartplotter, power up, and select the chart source in your mapping pages. Keep the card clean and dry when it is not in the unit, and avoid bending the media.
For the download variant, install the chart with Garmin Express and follow the prompts for your device and storage method. After installation, select the chart in the plotter mapping settings and allow time for the unit to index the new cartography.
Use on board
This chart is a good match for skippers running Finnish lake routes where shallow areas and narrow passages demand close attention to contours, and for anglers who want contour detail to help read structure. Depth shading and shallow water highlighting are especially useful when you are picking a safe line through unfamiliar sections or setting up a route between waypoints.
